If you have an extra achilles laying around, well boy do I know a guy who can use one.

I noticed that in the 1st pre-season game... and alluded to it in an earlier post.

You mean the nickname he was given in 2006, 15 years ago?

I agree. I'm not that worried about Huff from a pass rushing standpoint, as he's already proven he can be solid there, but share your concerns about him setting the edge against the run. This year will be a huge year for Huff going forward, that's for sure.

Phillips is pretty solid v the run. Huff may just stay in a passing downs role. One thing I feel confident about is a JFM coming out party this season. Losing Lawson won’t change that

ROFLOL! Also, the person you responded this to is wrong. This isn't the second time he blew out his achilles, and his knee injuries were to separate knees.

How so? Because I used the word successful? Or because I suggested they create breaks for themselves?

One guy gets hurt and you've moved it to the top of the excuse pile.

Don't you think he will improve in that regard with more reps/experience?

Where did I say anything about an “excuse pile”?

When Lawson got hurt I said “next man up”.

The Jets aren’t a successful team and frankly there are plenty of good teams that just catch breaks, they don’t create them.

It comes off like a Mangini mantra posted on a wall somewhere.

Why would you ask that? Let's make this perfectly clear - you said nothing of an excuse pile, I did because I recognized the "We just can't catch a break" break comment as just another thing that we'll be reminded of all season by those who've been telling us how wonderful and exciting this season is going to be, and criticizing anyone who has been too realistic to share that viewpoint.

I don’t think -expecting to lose our star rusher/big splash free agent signing before he took his first snap- was a realistic expectation.

True but as a fan of the Jets for a long time now, I expected something to happen. Anyone who follows this team knows it always does. I'm still not expecting a lot from Wilson. Fact is this franchise has been bad for a long time and I hope it get better, but I have to see it first.

I blew out an Achilles on my left nad in a shitty motel room in Itaewon, South Korea. It took me almost 3 weeks to recover before I was able to use any power moves.

Expecting to lose any player at all at any time should be a realistic expectation for every fan. It happens every year on every team.
