I am not expecting that much from the Jets this year. I think if Wilson can show steady progression and not throw too many interceptions I will be content. I do think that Moore is going to really have a good year and show everyone he was well worth the pick. I think invariably it will cost Crowder playing time and may force a trade by the Jets.
Can a rookie have a breakout season? I’ve always thought the term applied to someone greatly exceeding their standard of play from previous seasons.
I've been wearing a Namath throwback jersey since 1995, but Moore is an early favorite to be my next serious Jets jersey purchase. (Sadly I was gifted a Jamaal Adams jersey that's never been worn with him on the team)
I'm seriously considering taking Elijah as my late-round sleeper in all of my fantasy drafts this year. I think he's going to be a huge part of this offense out of the gate.
I mentioned this to my old man over dinner last night. I told him to not be surprised if this guy wins Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Based upon the prices his memorabilia are going for, "the market" is expecting he's going to be a star.
Why wouldn't anyone be surprised if Elijah Moore beat out a deep QB class and good RB class, not to mention D. Smith, Waddle and Chase for OROY? I like the guy but get real.
And TE Kyle Pitts, who many said during the draft was the best receiver available. If we are a run first team then our OROY candidate will likely be Carter.
Moore and Michael Carter are probably the two players on the team this year that I'm most excited to watch. If they can progress the way we've been led to believe they can, and if Wilson lives up tot he billing, we could really be in business on the offensive side of the ball for the first time in multiple decades.
We're gonna be relying on the defense far more than the offense this year to stay in games and Q is the lynchpin of the defense by design. If that falls through it doesn't matter if Becton breaks out this year, it'll be 4-12 most likely.
