A lot wrong with this. You're trying really hard to make It look better than It actually has been. First of all.. No fucking way that stat line Is correct. Who Is NYJ_Matt anyway? Second of all. All these clips are from the ONE decent day that offense has had thus far In camp, correct? Even then he went like 5-11/6-11 In team 11v11, right? Third - 7v7, I would hope Wilson would do good, considering there Is no pass rush actually coming for you In those. ..but, hey, let's ignore everything else that doesn't fit your narrative. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.. Yikes. You also have zero context on what Is going on, yet, you seem to think you know just how good things are going right now. Got It.
67 percent completion rate 12 TDs 4 Ints that is some kind of terrible. Sign me up for that. Show me another rookie QB doing that and against the 1st team defense. Trevor Lawrence had 6 INTs in not one practice but back to back practices. The kid is doing outstanding. His OTAs were so great and he is so far ahead of schedule that they are not afraid to throw everything at him. There will be a lot of ups and downs but don't believe the crazy narrative by those that hate the Jets and Zach by all reports Zach is having a great camp.
This seems to be your go to when you are challenged with an actual counter point.. It's not even creative, clever, or cute. ..but, hey. Sorry to even remotely try to doubt the all knowing, Falco21.
Got me! You are so incredibly sneaky, I didn't even see that response coming. Hate being challenged! Never challenge the omniscient
Not a chance that stat line Is correct. I just went through numerous twitter feeds, instagram, and articles.. Not a chance that Is accurate. It's the internet after all. Shouldn't believe everything you read just because someone else linked It.
Yeah, no way they are correct considering they are posted on August 3rd, which is about 8 days ago, depending on your current time zone. Omniscient!
Sneaky? I hardly think I'm trying to be sneaky. What? It was meant to be exactly what It was. You are not creative, clever, or cute. You think your shit doesn't stink, you have It all figured out, and for me to call you out, well, It's clearly a waste of time. You are more interested In derailing conversation than actually, you know, debating the BS you hide behind. To each their own though. Continue on, fella.
I respectfully disagree to some extent. I'm not concerned about Wilson yet. It's way too early. I believe in him and in his talent. If he's still struggling like this at the end of the season, then yes, I'll have some concerns. As much as I have believed in him and his talent and believed that he was absolutely the right pick, like all rookie QBs, I knew he was going to struggle. I never expected a smooth, bump-free ride or for him to look like a HOF QB day one. As many pointed out prior to the draft, he never faced a huge pass rush at BYU like he will in the NFL. I believed that Lawson would be very good, but never knew that he would be this great this soon against Becton. That battle has surprised me. I also knew that learning a new offense and adjusting to it would take some time and create some bumps in the road, just as adjusting to the speed of the NFL would. I knew that even though he was very good reading Ds at BYU, that he would struggle in the NFL as coverages are tighter, NFL defenses are more complex, and they disguise coverages whereas many, if not most, collegiate teams do not. I knew there would be differences in the level of play and pressure, that would cause some bumps in the road. I knew it would take time to develop timing and chemistry with his receivers. If nothing else, I knew that we had a rookie HC and OC, but took great comfort in knowing that we had Greg Knapp. Now Knapp is gone. You don't just replace that level of knowledge, experience, expertise, and the personal connection that was there for Zach. The reason I'm not concerned is I believe in Zach's talent, his intelligence/football IQ, his work ethic, and his burning desire to be the best. He may never become a HOF QB or even a perennial All Pro, but I believe that he will, and whatever level of accomplishment he reaches, I believe it will be much higher than any QB we've had since Namath. That might not be saying much, but it still will make things a lot better and happier for Jets fans. Perhaps more importantly, he believes that he can and will become one of the best QBs, if not THE best QB in the NFL, and is going to put in the work and do his best to see that he gets there. That's all we can ask. That's why I'm not concerned at the moment. I am surprised and disappointed a little, but then I didn't expect AVT to get injured, Lawson to dominate Becton, or Mims to have struggled like he has. Those things have an impact, perhaps a big impact on on how Zach has performed. You also have to keep in mind, that they are still installing the offense, and each practice they are working on different things. Some days they have focused more on short passes or the rushing attack. They aren't scheming against the D. Instead the D knows what they're going to be doing and are throwing everything, including the kitchen sink at Zach to see what he can handle.
He only had 3 practices before that twitter post. Everything I'm reading for those practices.. There Is no way those numbers were accurate. I'm fully aware of the date and that Is not what I was talking about. Smooth though. Smooth.
C'mon guy. I love ya, but this isn't accurate and if you've really been paying attention, you know it isn't accurate. The offense has looked very good in a number of practices. It's been inconsistent, but that is to be expected with so many new players, a new system, rookie OC, rookie HC, and at this point of the preseason Ds usually are well ahead of offenses.
The context Is that of the 3 practices that Wilson was In prior to that stat line that he posted claiming he had 12td's to 4int with a 67% complete rate. The offense only had one good practice In that time. They've had other good days, but, as a whole even. It's been more down days than good days. I'm not looking to make excuses either though. I understand there are factors that hinder things, but, real games are right around the corner. None of that will matter come week 1. Ready or not, here It comes. I have been paying attention. I was referring to the one good day they had prior to that post. It was Wilson's second practice. The first one was really bad. The second one was a bounce back day. The third practice was poor.
This Is HUGE. These are the things that DO give me hope. I don't mind If he Isn't there yet with this, as long as he gets there. It's good that the NYJ understand It seems, that he has never had this level of pressure. Ever. The pocket that Wilson worked with In college was ridiculous. The college game will never be the NFL. Ever. However, even for college standards, that pocket was way cleaner than most playing for BYU. It should be a concern, It should be addressed, and It should be worked on extensively. Wilson wont stand a chance If he can't speed up his clock with that level of pass rush coming at him every play. If he Is taking 5secs to get the ball out In 7v7, that Is scary to me. Hopefully this Is a hurdle he clears soon.
I got tired of scrolling but you can go back and find tweets like these throughout this entire thread. To act like Wilson has entirely struggled is just inaccurate. Has he had struggles? Yes, of course but I don't think he's struggled most of the time.
I LOVE that Saleh hates 7 on 7s and runs as little of them as possible. I hate 7 on 7 QB “highlights” (air quotes).
