Yes and Vinny was also the opposite of accurate too. And would've probably threw that pass into the stands for a fans INT. Because we didn't call him 'color blind' for nothing'.
I and others called him Intercepteverde, and you're right. Vinny would have missed that throw or thrown an interception 7 times out of 10.
He'd probably give the pizza box to the wrong (walk-in) customer. He did that quite a bit as an NFL QB.
29/7 and a half away from the super bowl. monkey one year with the Jets did he really turn it over. And what could have been in 99.
People saying this is the most hopeful TC since Namath are forgetting 1999. I thought for sure during camp that season we were going to the SB.
Yeah 1998 was a magical season for me as a fan rooting for Broadway Vinny and 1999 was a heartbreaking opener for us all (should've went to Ray Lucas sooner and we make the playoffs). However 1998 (when talking Vinny) still doesn't change the fact how he only has a 1.02 TD to INT Ratio due to 275 TDs/267 INTs, a not too good completion percentage of only 56.5% along with INT seasons of 10, 14, 14, 15, 16, 18, 18, 19, 20, 22, 25 and 35 INTs. That's bad. Yes. Football was much different back then especially for QBs but 21 years with only 2 Pro Bowl selections was due to Vinny being an absolute turnover and INT machine. As a former #1 overall drafted QB that guy would be in the HOF right now if he could've limited his INTs and converted them into more wins (career 33 games below .500).
I had thoughts of a SB appearance too but now thinking back, you just never knew with Vinny. He could've went from a 1998 magical season (Fitz of 2015ish) to a nightmare 25+ INTs 1999 (Fitz of 2016ish) because one thing about Vinny is that he was never reliable (long term). Even in 1999 he started off week 1 throwing another one of his INTs. I just remember in 1998 AFCCG vs Denver I was pissed at Martin for fumbling (something he never did) and I still remember today being so frustrated with Vinny throughout the entire game because he tossed multiple INTs with 0 TDs and led us to only 10 points. Yea. It's nice to believe we make the SB in 1999 and unfortunately we'll never know but there was no telling with that guy.
I had hope in 2010 after what happened the previous season. Most of the starters returned, Sanchez had a year under his belt and played fairly well in the playoffs, and the Pats seemed ripe for the picking.
Yes. He got open in High School, he got open in College, he got open in OTA's, he got open in Mini-camp, he's now getting open in Training Camp and he'll get wide open during real NFL games because.... He's unstoppable. Physically unstoppable.
Mann & Hennessy? I kid, but they could end up being the best at their respective positions very soon.
Who cares about duo's when we've got trio's? QB/WR/RB (Wilson/Moore/Carter). LT/LG/RT (Becton/Vera-Tucker/Moses). DE/DT/MLB (Lawson/Williams/Mosley). Those are going to become 3 extremely fun trio's to root for this upcoming season.
i had a 5 count on snap to release. thats going to be a sack, and a guy better be wide open in man coverage with no safety help with 5 seconds in the pocket.
2005. The Jets were the darkhorse favorites to go to the SB from the AFC. Then Chad gets hurt game 3 and it is all over.
