    I also remember Manish claiming that Joe Douglas was given significant limitations on FA spending two years ago... only to be refuted by several other beat reporters.

    I think it has been pretty well documented(regardless of this specific assertion) that Manish has more then one "screw loose". When your media peers loathe you - that is a powerful statement

    Even if true, and I imagine it is, it is a non story. Any team will have an operational budget that is dictated by someone. And someone has to release funds to the team to spend from time to time. I cant imagine many billionaire owners personally release funds to clubs. It doesn't mean they aren't in control ultimately. This guy isn't running the team, or controlling what is spent on whom. He's just controlling the cash flow out of (and checking the into presumably) the Johnsons' accounts and balancing the books. Its a typical shit-stirring troll job from a totally discredited source whose sole recourse now is to pop his head over the parapet every so often and take blind pot shots at the Jets.

    Manish sucks but I don't doubt that report. Woody Johnson is a trust fund kid, the money is not really something he earned.

    It makes sense that his little pet projects have to go through the people that manage his trust fund
