I hope the 9 who aren't vaccinated are bottom of the roster, fringe players who most likely won't make the team anyway.
That's the spirit. Maybe Zach is one of them. Would you be hoping he got cut too? These guya are young athletes in great shape. Aaron Judge and the other Yankees that tested positive ended up just fine.
You misread what I said. I said that I hope that those 9 are bottom of the roster players who aren't likely to make the team anyway. I didn't say anything about cutting starters or key backups who weren't vaccinated. It's not about punishment. It's about protecting the team during the season so they don't have to forfeit a game. If the Jets have to forfeit a game, no one on either team gets paid. That would be ridiculous. IMO it's totally selfish of players to not get vaccinated and risk their teammates getting it, the team having to forfeit and the whole team having to forego a week's paycheck. What do you think that would do to team unity and culture? If I was a player and that happened, I'd be going after the player that got sick and cost me a paycheck.
There wasn't a vaccine last year and how many games were cancelled? Make a fist and count the fingers. Zero
There were a number of games last year that were canceled and rescheduled and a lot of games that were moved to Tuesday and Wednesday. The NFL said they will not reschedule this year. Under this policy the Steelers would have had a few forfeits last year. If you test positive you are out likely for many weeks. But it is not just about infecting teammates. If one does not vaccinate they are tested daily and their movement and association with others including teammates is greatly restricted.
That doesn't mean there couldn't be, and if memory serves me correctly, perhaps one or more games should have been forfeited last year.
Actually, the NFL said that if games could not be rescheduled during the 18 week season, the team with the virus problem would forfeit and have to pay all the expenses. It did not state there will be no rescheduling. NFL informs clubs that COVID-19 outbreaks among unvaccinated players could lead to forfeited games
Canceled and rescheduled is called postponed and honestly, games on Tuesdays and Wednesday were a happy consequence of this whole mess. Don’t threaten me with games all week
I agree. I really liked the Tuesday and Wednesday games. The NFL may hate it and I understand the scheduling and rest day issues but it would not hurt my feelings if there was a game on tv every night of the week.
Not good considering how much coaching this kid badly needs. He runs around like a chicken with his head cut off 90% of every play. He needed a full camp, now he’ll participate in none.
there was only 1 Wednesday game and it kicked off at 3:40 PM. The NFL hated it because it cost everyone money
100% agreed. I'm on record as hating this pick from the moment his name was called. Not a great start to his career, that's for sure.
I definitely wasn’t the biggest fan of the pic and now after seeing a year of him I’m less of a fan. I don’t think he fit in his defense at all and was drafted by Williams to be that super deep free safety because of his closing speed and his hard-hitting ability. I don’t think he was ever meant to be someone that you could stick on a receiver or play in tight space. Maybe with some coaching but he’s already behind the 8 ball.
Costello posts a short recap of yesterday's practice. Today's practice should be starting soon. https://nypost.com/2021/07/28/jets-training-camp-run-game-gets-off-to-ideal-start/
It seems without Zach there are no practice updates except for Connor Hughes. Seeing little on Twitter about today's practice.
