I heard on A guy on PBS say they had two months worth of rain in two days! The pictures I saw looked horrible.

You know you're in trouble when there's a car hanging from a tree. : /

There was also a flash flood in the Grand Canyon. I'll just paint in my Studio, thanks.

In March of 1979, I was driving on the interstate between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne in my friend’s snazzy red Mustang (we were driving to her hometown the day before her wedding) when the skies opened up with more rain than I had ever experienced in a car. For the first time ever I had to pull over to the side of the highway because I literally couldn’t see 5 feet in front of the car because of rain.

Today was the second time that happened to me, this time on I-95, about 20 miles north of Baltimore. The surrounding cloud-to-ground lightning strikes and hail were nice additional touches. It seemed calamitous on an almost Biblical level. I made it through, but YIKES.

I drove through one of those once on I-4 to see a concert in Orlando..... sketchy as F- No joke saw FOUR power transformers blow along the way...... gives the sky an ominous purple/blue color
Only worse one was driving through a tornado spawing band from Hurricane Irma while on the Matanzas Inlet bridge..... legit thought that was my time:eek:

But the four cylinders of fury of my silver burro prevails..... GO NISSAN

Massive deaths in China in Zhengzou from extreme flooding. People drowning in subway cars, an underground mall, raw sewage everywhere, they can't get a handle on it.

To everyone in the Northeast, did you see the pink/red moon the other night? It's from the wildfires in the Mid-west. What the frig. I was going, wait, the Strawberry Moon happened in late June. Weirdest thing ever.

I guess you're not moving back to FL anytime soon ;)

actually, I'd say our June Monsoon helped squash our forest fire potentially this year

We were hot late last week, and the weekend. Index near 115. Then we got 7” of rain Tuesday. There’s a stalled cold front that will bring more rain this weekend as it finally moves. But the last few days and nights ha e been great. Actually cool.

Has Jay even stopped by here recently?

BTW, this thread title annoys me. And I created it. It was initially going to be Jay’s House of Weather n’Shit, consolidating all of Jay’s super-comprehensive weather posting. The rules on cursing in thread titles turned it into something glaringly mediocre.

Tropical Tidbits gives a pretty good breakdown on this. Looks like it could be something.

Or it could loop de loop and head out to sea.

Nah, just a run of the mill tropical storm/hurricane. No reason not to take it seriously, but nothing like the raging freak of nature that Sandy was.
