https://www.nj.com/giants/2021/07/nfl-rumors-do-giants-or-jets-have-brighter-future-espn-says.html ESPN NFL Nation examined the trajectory each franchise is on, and ranked them according to what direction the organization, as a whole, seems to be heading in. They are VERY bullish on the Jets future (defined by the article as the next 3 seasons) and actually said that THIS seems like the perfect time for the Jets to wrest control of the city from the Giants, whose future they were not as confident in. Full article located above, here is a snippet: There are plenty of reasons to be bullish about the Jets, writes ESPN national football analyst Field Yates: Potential for a steep rise is in play for the Jets with a very promising young quarterback in place, a roster that already looks far deeper and more competitive under GM Joe Douglas than it ever did under the previous two GMs and a coaching staff with an enthusiasm and energy that breathes life into a fan base almost euthanized by Adam Gase and his staff. Douglas also has plenty of draft capital left to tap into in future years, and the Jets have a very healthy cap sheet, so targeting free agents over the course of the next 2-3 years should not be a major challenge. The hinge for this franchise: Zach Wilson. If he’s as good as advertised, the Jets will soar to heights they haven't seen since the late 60's. If the Jets were a stock, any objective analyst would be advising his clients to buy, buy, buy!!!
This year will be a learning year for everybody. From the Head Coach to QB to Coaches. Next year, Jets will start to dominate.
I’m excited for training camp to start and also looking forward to seeing some preseason games I haven’t felt this good about the organization since Parcells was here
