What happens when it's time to pay those good lineman you've drafted?
Ramczyk wasn't some high priced FA merc, he was an All-Pro T that was extended.
Let's hope we have the same scenario.

At some point you have to pay good players, and the OL is as good a place as any to invest long term.

With $200m/year to spend, some player will obviously be paid well but if you consistently mail the draft, replacements are always already on the bench.

Perennial Super Bowl teams don’t over pay.

JD will need to continue to strengthen the OL thru the draft and selectively pick and choose who we keep and pay top dollar. You can not sustain a line where 2/3 are highly paid stars very long. I say two max.

Perennial Super Bowl teams don't let elite players in their prime walk.
You don't have to overpay (ie pay way beyond anything on the market) but if you draft good players, you will eventually have to pay their worth.
    That's not a bad thing.

One of my favorite sayings is: "Would you rather be right, or happy?". There was a long time when I'd say "Right" without a second thought. I've come to choose the second choice and am happier for it.

I think you can have 2/3 well paid Olineman.
    We've had it here before.

Drafting well does not mean you won't need to pay top dollar to star players though.
It will actually lead to more of that.
If you actually land a star player at a premium position, no good team is gonna let them walk thinking it's no problem to just land another one in the draft.

Mediocre players I'd agree you can let walk if need be.

Perennial Super Bowl teams ie the Steelers don’t let elite players in their prime ie Brown and Bell walk? Interesting, but I’ll have to disagree.

Right vs happy? “Ignorance is bliss” is a saying for a reason.

Both guys wanted out. Brown was a known nutjob who they did give a big contract to, but ultimately had to trade out of town.
Bell refused to sign a big contract they offered.

The Steelers do re-sign their good players that fit the mold, especially in the front 7 and trenches.
Do you think they'd have that many HOF'ers if they didn't?

I'll plead "ignorance" because I don't know what you're trying to say.

Age and experience can make a huge difference in our perspectives. Happier is the better choice. Life's too short as it is.

The two aren't mutually exclusive, but "right" is often a matter of perspective, not fact in today's world. Many people think they are right in the US today on various topics, but they aren't dealing with reality or factuality. I'm learning more and more that it's not even worth engaging with those people, and just being happy.

If we can’t agree on the facts we can never have a productive discussion. #sad

Did you just start posting on this board today? Have you not noticed how often times there are posters who have a radically different perspective on what is "factual" or "real"? You're right however that one cannot have a productive discussion with them. Not everything has to be a productive discussion, either. Sometimes, posters can just agree to disagree and leave it at that.

You act like people being blind to facts is exclusive the the TGG message board… I have some really bad news for you…

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but not their own facts.

Did your girlfriend dump you or something? You're being very argumentative this morning. I will leave you to go twist someone else's words and argue with.

Me pointing out people aren’t entitled to their own facts is hardly argumentative, it’s pretty well known.

Me pointing out the 2017 Jets CS was incompetent is hardly argumentative, it’s pretty well known.

Why are you being so combative this morning, did someone point out your best years are behind you?

No, I don't. That's your assumption. I said nothing to indicate that it was limited to TGG solely. I just mentioned TGG because that's where this group of people (including you and I) discuss things.
