at this point, considering the fact that the vaccine is available to anyone who wants it, and also considering the fact that covid is not going anywhere and will be with us for the foreseeable future....I would think that any players who choose to opt out AGAIN due to covid....simply aren't all that interested in playing football anymore, for whatever reason.

    Thanks for posting, @Leicester Jet

How does it work? Does your contract get extended? Do you get paid when you opt out?

Not to make light of COVID but I will have 0 respect for any player who chooses to hold out this season. Last year I can understand, not this year though.

    Here is how it works:
    1. Their contract gets tolled one year.
    2. Normal opt out players will not get a stipend this year.
    3. Players deemed high risk can get a 350k stipend.
    4. Only players who signed their contract before October 1, 2020 are eligible to opt out. With the exception that a rookie who is deemed high risk can opt out and teams will hold his rights in 2022 as if they had drafted him in 2022
    5. All decisions are final. Once a player opts out it cannot be taken back.
    6. Last year 67 players opted out. It should be a lot less this year.

I agree. Unless there is some wild special circumstances... which I'm not even sure what they would be but you never know.

I don't think any player that attended our last mandatory camp will opt out, & we had a 100% attendance. It would be hypocritical to attend pre season camps then opt out.
