Indeed. Crazy money This is why I hope for JD to continue to draft OG and OT thru the draft with an occasional vet on a short contract to fill a hole. I know he had a couple of misses but he is painfully aware of the need for a strong OL and he has done much along those lines. Glad he did not get into a bidding war in the off season, be it guard or tackle.
holy crap. way too much for an OG. that's LT money. especially with the cap down this year. glad we drafted AVT
LaFleur is running it. As mentioned, I’d only need to absolute confidence in Perine, Coleman, or Carter if I didn’t have faith in our OL. Fact: every QB looks good without pressure in the pocket. Every RB looks good with big holes to run Thru.
Carter... Coleman will be good until he gets hurt. But I'm telling you go watch some tape on Carter. I really like the kid.
going back to the 40s and 50s under paul brown, 60s and 70s under lou sabin, chuck knox, lombardi, stram , al davis, building from the lines out is the right way to turn a team around. you have to be able to block and tackle before you can run or pass, or stop the run or pass. not wasting $10 million on a backup qb "mentor" like the jets used to do, is smarter cap management by JD.
It's sad. Some posters complained over the last 10 years about our GMs and the way they did things, but now that we finally have a competent GM doing things the right way, they're complaining that he's not doing things like his predecessors. They've become so jaded and cynical that they've forgotten (or maybe never knew) what is the right way to build a team. We have a gem in Joe Douglas. Unless they wake up from their fog, they are going to miss all the fun, but maybe they just like being miserable or maybe being "right" in their eyes and would rather the team be wrong so they can look more knowledgeable.
Did you know who Raheem Mostert was before he was in this system? Also Carter is ridiculously talented
