Another dodgy DA deal , DA later became trumps lawyer . The deal was , cosby wont be criminally charged (statue of limitations) issues if he he gave civil depositions . Those depositions contained incriminating evidence , that were used later by another DA The criminal trial was basically poisoned by the use of evidence .
Looks like the original DA was hellbent on convicting Cosby. So much so that rules were bent and now it comes due. I don't think they can retry Cosby as "Double Jeopardy" applies here.. The guy is 82 yo and mostly blind so chalk it up to time served and move on.

The last thing any of us want is a government that can breach legally enforceable agreements it makes with a citizen. Whether he deserves to be in prison for his alleged crimes is separate from the fact that he made an agreement with the government and they prosecuted him based on their breach of that agreement.
