https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...-no-1-bruce-arians-matt-lafleur-crack-top-10/ CBS sports ranked all of the current head coaches. They admitted that it is obviously difficult to rank the rookie HC's, but they did have positive things to say about Saleh. Here is their blurb on him. The full list is above. Andy Reid overtook Belichick (sans Brady) at the top spot. 29. Robert Saleh (Jets) Season: 1st with Jets and as HC Career record: N/A Playoff record: N/A These are the spots where it's hard to separate the rookie head coach from the team who hired him, because in Saleh's case, landing in New York, with the Jets' abysmal track record of recent 1st Round hotshot QB prospects and recent coaching hires, doesn't necessarily bode well. But everything else about his resume points upward. He's had elite stops with perennial contenders and well-respected organizations in Seattle and San Francisco, and he'll bring worlds more energy, ambition and focus than Adam Gase. For those reasons alone, he represents a huge upgrade before even coaching a game.
Just the way you want it. An unproven HC who must first climb the NFL rankings before being considered and mentioned as top 10. What I love about Saleh is despite his 49ers defense getting ambushed with injuries to key starters especially his best player in Bosa week 2 of last year; SFs D still ranked top 5 (4th) in yards allowed. However in 2019 when San Francisco wasn't destroyed with injuries his Defense ranked #1 in pass defense, 2nd in total yards allowed, 4th in sacks and 6th in turnovers created/forced. What we're getting in coach Saleh is Rex Ryan type Defensive ability but with better leadership characteristic, less media headlines and yes, even more electric ENERGY (this man works out and lifts weights alongside of his players). A+ hire from Joe Douglas.
