Best win: Dallas Cowboys 2019 @ MetLife Honorable Mention: NYG 2019 Worst Loss: San Francisco 2020 @ Metlife
I probably speak for many .....Best win was the day he was fired - worse loss was the day he was hired. In reality I don’t see how stunning the Cowboys that day wouldn’t be the best win.
Thnx GOD @SAR I doesn't post here on TGG. He'd let us know how awesome Gase wins were. Unfortunately, I could never enjoy any Gase wins and why? Because in 2019 by the time he got his 1st win we were already 0-4 and now only 1-4 and then we quickly emerged to 1-7 (season over before it started) with planes flying to get him fired; and the final 8 games of 2019 were completely meaningless (season was already over @ 0-4 and 1-7 etc). And then in 2020 by the time Gase got his first win? We were mostly all pissed because it only improved us to 1-13 and threw away the #1 pick. As a fan base we never got to experience, witness or enjoy a meaningful win. They were all 1-7 and 1-13 meaningless.
Idk about that. Wins against teams like the Giants, Cowboys, and Steelers are always welcome given how annoying their fans are.
Not when Dallas improved us to only 1-4, Giants to only 2-7 and Steelers only 6-9. I couldn't enjoy those wins because they were meaningless and we had absolutely no hope for the playoffs during those 3 games. Gase was the type of HC who had us eliminated from postseason contention before even preseason games started.
It is some damning fact when it can truly be said that we didn’t have a meaningful win during his tenure.
Yes the ghost game was completely humiliating for Darnold and the franchise as a whole. A low point even among a sea of them. That’s what I’ll remember Sam Darnold and the Darnold/Gase lead Jets for. That and how they did everything wrong with regards to trying to build a winning football team.
Wish you didn't remind me I remember like yesterday. Was trying to convince myself he was just a kid who had a really bad game and he'd bounce back strong the next game. Nope. I was wrong. He tossed another 3 INTs the following game and we lost to the 3-4 Jaguars. We were now 1-6 and season was over for us all.
Like others have said the best win was the day he was canned. As for the worst loss their were too many to count. I would go with the ghost game but all the losses were an embarrassment. The Jets weren't even competitive in most of them.
Why is Gase's name still popping up here? That's like reminiscing about the worst job you ever had, or appendicitis.
I mentioned this after the 2019 season and I’ll say again......what was ironic about 2019 was in years/decades past had somebody told you the Jets were going to beat the likes of Dallas, Washington, Pittsburgh, Miami, Oakland, and the Giants all in the same season you would of assumed the Jets finally got into a Super Bowl they were that good. My has the NFL changed ....can you imagine any Jets team pulling that off in the 70s/80s...
I don't think Sam ever recovered form that... whatever he had before that seem to get lost after that defeat. One gall's me the most is AG left him in to take a beating like that...
Gase wasn’t considering the psychological aspect of what Darnold was experiencing, only that nobody was executing his next level game plan.
