that's pretty stupid man. I think we're all dumber from this conversation. George Fant has started 38 NFL games by now and isn't he almost 30 anyway?? He's not some greenhorn rookie anymore. No more excuses. The best tackle plays the other takes a seat and 2-14 should be considered an embarrassment
As mentioned before out of the 38 games he’s started, only a fraction were as OT. I don’t count the games he started at TE or as a 6th lineman as applicable experience. I also take the fact he didn’t play HS football nor NCAA football (sans 5 games at TE) into consideration when I stare he’s had very limited experience. I’m all for improving the line and open competition but to claim 25ish games and 1 full season are enough to judge a player is extremely short sided. Re greenhorn rookie: he’s played less football in his life than any current rookie.
LOL this thread has almost turned George Fant into the second coming. I bet nobody in this world have mentioned him this many times and that’s including his own parents...... I’m willing to bet at this time next year he will no longer even be on the Jets roster .... lol.
Well said @BrowningNagle he'll be 30 come this time next year and now heading into his 6th season but yet there were true first year 2020 Rookies with no NFL offseason who still played better than Fant who was a 5th year player. Fant: 61.6 2020 1.) Andrew Thomas: 62.4 2.) Mekhi Becton: 74.4. 3.) Tristan Wirfs: 81.5. 4.) Ezra Cleveland: 66.2 5.) Matt Peart: 69.7 6.) Justin Herron: 63.3 Those are just PFF scores. I prefer the eye test. We never needed as sports fans for no PFF to tell us Namath, Jeter, Ewing, Messier or Mike Tyson were great our eyes and mind just let us know same goes for 2019's right side of our O-Line with Fant getting 14 real starts my eyes let me know that I sat thru and watched 16 weeks of a trainwreck you know.
In 2016 (Rookie) and 2020 (5th year player) he's combined for 24 starts @ OT during just those two seasons alone (2016 & 2020).
lol how can you "start" as a 6th Lineman? You can't. And neither does Sports-Reference, Wiki or ESPN etc, etc they don't count them either... Because it's impossible to get credit for a "start" as a "6th lineman and/or backup TE". Coming off the bench as a 6th OT or extra TE doesn't count as a "start" and will never be listed as a START on either one of Sports-reference, Wiki and/or ESPN etc. Which is why he has 60 total games played consisting of 38 career starts and 22 games played off the bench at backup TE and 6th swingman O-Line = 60 games played (38 starts + 22 off the bench).
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201901050dal.htm Go to Seahawks starters and see for yourself. I went through and detailed his 7 2018 starts in a much earlier post. Take a look for yourself. Edit: here’s my quote re the 7 games. I recommend you look at the box scores of the 7 games he started then come back and apologize. Ps, if you look at his starts for 2019 you’ll see the same thing (in a slightly different format). He had 7 starts in 2018 for the Seahawks. Against the Panthers he was the starting TE Against the 49ers he was the starting TE Against the Vikings and 49ers rematch he played as the 6th OL Against the Chiefs and Cardinals he was RT Against the Cowboys he was the 6th OL
wow this thread really has gone off the rails....I had no idea that K'OB was addicted to glo sticks at one point in his life...
I've been on a huge Jim Beam Peach with Sprite Zero kick this summer. I really only drink whiskey and beer, and Jamo on a hot summer day isn't too enticing. Oh and Moses > Fant
I am not a big alcohol guy, but the rare times I do imbibe, I enjoy something fruity and light and sweet where you can barely taste the alcohol...something like a Jack Daniels Hard Fruit Punch wine cooler...or a mike's hard lemonade......or a nice, light, or a tropical light peach bellini with a wedge of pineapple and one of those cute little blue umbrellas in it.

@KingRoach You keep telling us he lacks experience. D'Brickishaw Ferguson Rookie Season. 100% of snaps. 1,074 total plays. George Fant. Career. 2,546 total snaps/plays. He's got exactly 2.5 years worth of snaps/experience while heading into 2021 and unfortunately he still 6 years later isn't very good.
Example 27, why position did he start? It’s just a couple more clicks on the page. Click game then click Seattle starters. Check it out and lmk.
Those diet sodas are worse for you than regular sodas. They make one crave sugar and the nutrasweet/aspartame is awful for you.
Oh well. Starter/swingman/bench/backup TE etc doesn't really matter he's still got 2,546 total snaps/plays throughout his awesome All Pro career.
