I don't know how much more obvious it could be that he had no desire to play for Adam Gase in a season that he was going to be risking his and his family's health. Who could blame him?
easy decision when you get paid 10 mil to not play football for a shit coach on a shit team. I understand his family but he let his teammates down and many other players played with no issues
We don't know details about his reasoning not to play last year so let's leave the guy alone on that front. That said, he owes a lot to the Jets. If he doesn't play his butts of this year then he will deserve all the shitting he can get.
If Mosley didn't opt out, Gase would've given his snaps to an ILB who was nearing the end of his career.
if he balls out all will be forgiven. if he looks like he lost it, jet fans will rightfully be pissed. we will have to wait and see
Never heard more talk from a guy that has done less tbh. Bottom line, he screwed his team mates. Can dig the family stuff, understand injury (muscle pulls for a year and a half?) after signing a mega contract, but his opting out was horse crap. Just imho footnote lol.... I wouldn't quit on my team mates...
He only played one game with us. But when he did it was a LB masterclass, especially the first game. Hopefully, he’s still got that kind of energy. I’m in the wait and see camp for him, but this is a good sign.
Mosley made the right choice. Once the team decided to retain Gase, and essentially fold on FA, it was pretty obvious how 2020 was gonna play out. Why would he risk his family on that? Hell as a fan I opted out of the season also. He’s still young enough, if he can return to form we are getting a top 3 ILB in the league, who’s a perfect fit for this D. I’m excited to have him back.
Well, it's been a huge disappointment obviously. BUT I know what I saw as I sat there in MetLife Stadium on opening day 2019 against Buffalo, and what I saw that day was a free agent-signee playing linebacker like we haven't seen in years, and he practically got us a win that day on his own - even with a mono-ridden (but valiant) QB. We lost that day because CJ had to come out. I for one am all in.
More talk? This is like his first interview in a year or more. Unless somehow you're upset, he answered questions, perfectly rationally, by ya know, talking? And has done less? He is a 4x Pro Bowler. Also, you saying "you wouldn't quit on your teammates" is like you saying how you would have read a defense differently. Stop it.
The only thing that worries me is that he said it was the best game of his career. Just hope it isn't downhill from there. LOL. In any event, even 75% of that performance would be better than what the Jets have seen from that position since Bart Scott.
didnt he have like 10+ tackles ,a FF, a TD and an INT in 3 quarters? I'd say that's the best game of most LB's careers lol
Only one more shitty Macagnan contract to go. I personally don’t blame Mosley for anything he did, but it’s irrelevant to the fact that his contract sucks and was never going to play up to that. I now think Macagnan was a worse GM than Idzik based on how badly his players have underperformed for what they were paid. Unfortunately this contract will probably stick for another 2 years before we can move on and yes we will move on.
Mosley a year older and deciding its time to come to the Office after extended leave?.he must be bored watching interest compound on his $...well seeing will be believing for the last Mac over the top 85 million bluster
