Guys (and ladies), to me it looks pretty clear. We are going to purge this team, new coaches and management = no ties. Chad, Curtis, kevin, Fabini, Sowell, Kendall, Law, Jay and possible more are going to be gone. I didn't think this yesterday, but now I am convinced were taking Cutler in the draft. We will draft a rb in the second round and maybe grab a few free agents (Ol,QB). I also believe Coles will be asked to restructure and Mcarriens (spelling) may also be history. Just my thoughts, but for some reason I think many of these moves may happen. Go Green.
so what, we were fricking 4-12. Oh now we might not retain peices vital to our 4-12 season. Were going to suck next year, why not suck with young guys with energy and enthusiasm
Poor John Clayton got ran out of town by Schefter. And Mort looks like a guy they pay $12.50/hour and "let" him have a job.
Fuckin Justin McCareins. Four seasons and the most memorable thing he did was drop a TD against the Ravens that cost us the game.
I looked at the McCareins deal as a turning point in Jet personnel. Prior to him, the Jets had a great record of drafting WRs going back to the Namath days. Barkum, Walker, Toon, Moore, Johnson, Chrebet (a FA but still...) Coles, Santana, Anderson (another FA) etc. After McCareins, it seems the Jets started to import WRs to disastrous results, Conway, Holmes, Edwards (he was pretty good but had off field issues), Marshall, Burress, etc. I'm sure there are others. The one exception in my book is Decker. I'm hoping Elijah Moore will restart the WR tradition.
Hated me some Justin McCareins, the player and signing. He’s a classic example that just because these FO personnel are paid professionals, it doesn’t mean they have a clue. McCareins was a bum and he was a prize FA signing. SMFH
One of my favorite Facebook memories every year is the date of that Ravens game. My status was just “fuck Justin McCareins”.
Chad ended up not being purged and led the Jets to the playoffs and a (10-6) record in 2006. 2 years later he would be dumped for Favre, where he would lead the Dolphins to the playoffs and an (11-5) record. Sucks his body let him down, because Pennington was the man.
Not for nothing, I much prefer this to "sure hope we get an OL or else Zach Wilson is going to get hurt and be a bust because he has a small frame and never faced real pressure and I'm going to talk about Justin Fields forever".
I love these old threads...they always catch me off guard when I start reading the first comment! I'm like WTF??? Then, oh, another old post. Lets see what I had to say back in 2006!
Exactly - these old threads are kinda like grave digging and look what I found after all that digging ..... LOL
