One of the best drafts we have had in awhile. Simply put, we built a foundation on Offense. I know defense still needs work but we have enough defensive picks over the years that we couldn't make the same mistakes we made with Sam. -Wilson: This entire draft will evolve around how good he is. Only time will tell. -AVT: I love this pick. I would rather trade up if we KNOW, which it seems they do, he is a bonafide day 1 stud, not year 2, etc. and they did that. Left side of OL is locked down for 10 years now. -Moore: He looks like Tyrek Hill 2.0. With Mimms and Davis on, the outside, line this guy up anywhere and in the slot. -Michael Carter: Looks like a nice 2 back, scat back, and has moves. Good value for what he may bring. Overall, with an OL that looks like this: Becton-AVT-McGovern-Clark-Fant....this is solid. Very solid. That right side can be polished off at any time now in future drafts or FA. WR of Davis, Mims, Crowder, and Moore. Very solid. Is this O elite? No. But, what this is a foundation. We can build off of this in the future. Sign a max player, etc. It's more than Sam ever had and is another player or two away from being elite...PENDING Zac Wilson turns our not to be a bust.
Yea. You don’t pick at 2 to bench him unless some serious red flags show up in his progression which at that point means it may even be too late.
"All animals are equal, except some are more equal than others."...George Orwell. Can we please have a list of those whose opinions are more equal than others. This way those of us with lesser opinions won't dare challenge the opinions of the "more equal."
Yes. Unless he struggles picking up the offense or JD goes out and gets Foles or Cutler, Zach will start.
Terrible analogy. That post was not aimed at you or anyone specifically, but rather in general. We're not talking human beings' worth, or even intelligence levels, we're talking opinions, and whether they are informed or uninformed. Some opinions are based on knowledge and experience, others are based on nothing except a feeling. I'm sorry, but uninformed opinions are worthless. People are entitled to have and voice their opinions, but they ought to have good enough sense when they know little or nothing about draft prospects to keep their opinions to themselves. As a wise man once said, It's better to have people to suspect that you're ignorant, than open your mouth and prove it." Listen I know that many posters don't have the time or inclination to research draft prospects in depth like a some of us do. That's fine. No one blames them, but it's frustrating for those of us who DO spend a lot of time watching video of prospects games, watching games live, watching analysis videos, reading scouting reports and articles about those prospects, and who have a much better understanding of what those prospects have to offer than someone who has spent little or no time researching draft prospects to pontificate that we should take this player, we shouldn't take a player at this position because there are no good prospects at that position, or trade down because no player is worth taking at #2, etc. It's very clear which posters spend a lot of time studying draft prospects and which ones do not. Just one example of this is the QB position. It was a historically strong draft for QBs, yet we had posters on here saying that there was only one QB worthy of taking in the top 10, and that we should trade and take a position player, and wait until next year to get a QB. That's the kind of crap I'm talking about.
QB breaks all time TD record. Historical in the moment. The draft scenario is not the same, but, you know, “witnessing history in the making” and all.
That's your opinion. I think the quote is appropriate when you try to elevate yourself and your opinions above the rest of us. The first definition of opinion is: a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. (Dictionary.com) Therefore, as much research as you say you do, the possibility remains that your opinion about a certain player, strategy, team direction, or whatever is not the one that comes to fruition. In fact, it may be the opinion of someone who has done no research and just has a gut feeling about an issue that becomes reality. We just went through a draft which is essentially based on opinions of people who are paid good money. We all know that some of those opinions will prove to be right, and others wrong despite the extensive research. Nevertheless, it sounds like you want to establish a hierarchy of members producing “better” opinions based on “extensive research” (not sure how you would determine that) and ban those who, according to you, “know nothing.” Sounds Animal Farm-ish to me.
