Why? Why not just say one of these guys will get cut, without the snide? It is a weird place here at times. We had Gore and Perine doing jackshit and then one game we had these two guys come in and show something and then Gase went back to Gore asap, of course, people were going to hope to see more from them, it is the hope that kills you when you follow shit sports teams.
I was hoping we would sign this guy, we need a quality RB and I would think it is a goodbye to Perine and Adams eventually.
No offense, but we as a desperate, offense-starved fanbase have a tendency to overhype players. Myself included. Adams and Johnson could be good fits here but there were more than a few people ready to hand one of them starting duties despite the fact both of them a glorified journeymen who have been mostly pedestrian throughout the course of their careers. Happens to the best of us.
I don’t think it’s a knock. No one bats 1000 in the draft. The mark of a good gm is he recognizes and corrects mistakes quickly. If Douglas sees perrine is not the best 4 rbs and cuts him after 1 season that will show he is i it to build a team and not his ego.
Are you saying that Guerrero will beat out one of Johnson/Adams, or do you think the Jets will sign a UDFA or sign another vet? Carter, Coleman, one of Adams/Johnson and ? If the Jets sign one of Javian Hawkins, Khalil Herbert or Jermar Jefferson (if they're even available as UDFAs), then I could see one of them possibly beating out Adams or Johnson, but otherwise, I think both will make the team over Perine or Guerrero.
But we both know that there are at least two who do and who have not been shy about spouting off about it. Sadly, there are probably others.
I think overall it was a great draft but some of the methods left him open to criticism. The trade up may end up being worth it but he really needs that one to be worth it, just like the 2 pick. I think overall there was a clear direction with the players chosen although you have to wonder about the 2 late picks of safeties being converted to LB. Seems like Saleh isn't the only one doing it in the NFL so there is something to it, but if those 2 players were both drafted for the same position (WLB) then it seems like a luxury he didn't have after trading 2 picks away earlier.
The Moment UNC RB Michael Carter Became A New York Jet | NFL Draft | The New York Jets | NFL - YouTube Echoing what others have said, Woody needs to sit down and shut the fuck up. Least he could do is pay someone to think of something unique to say to each prospect, instead of this clapping nonsense. Doesn't he know that these things are posted on the team website and youtube? Shit, Woody, don't be such a wet noodle.
Really like this pick. Just run to the left side with Becton and AVT and this kid will be a future 1000 yard rusher.
I predicted we wouldn’t take a RB in the draft. I am so glad this kid fell and I am even happier to be wrong. This kid is ideal for this offense. What a home run.
haha u have a good sense of humor, penny. I like that! in all seriousness, where did you get that Namath statue penny? someplace on line? it is really cool.
