On his 1st passing attempt, if he doesn't throw a pick-6, he'll have a better start than Darnold, although Darnold had a good game after that disaster.
I will say, as much as I think it was the wrong choice, it was cool to see him hyped on stage and dapping up Jets fans yelling "let's go" on his way to Goodell. I'm always more open to a player with enthusiasm and energy for being a Jet. Guys who seem like they want to be here don't come around too often.

No, because I don’t hold much regard for football pundits. Herbstreit, Kiper Prisco and others are killing the pick. Make of that what you will.

I haven’t seen any of them kill the pick. Prisco gave it a B and said he’d prefer Fields. Herbstreit likes Wilson and says he can succeed here. Kiper is the only one who is dead set against it, which everyone here should feel great about.
I'm excited and hopeful. There's a lot to like about him, his fit in the offense, and JD's commitment to building around him. Can't lie though that something about this guy gives me a weird feeing (maybe part of it is just expecting whatever the Jets do will be wrong). Then again I felt good about the Mark Sanchez and Sam Darnold picks so what do I know!
Confident but not arrogant, articulate, a little cliche at times but can't hold that against him being so young and under pressure. Implied he's not a party guy, more of a family guy.
