Wow, Cleveland with Ward and Newsome. One of the best CB combos in the NFL

There goes Greg Newsome. Bateman, Jenkins, or bust for 34.

Shut up with the Scamdemic already. This is the NFL draft!!!!!! If you're not 70 plus and in a nursing home, you have nothing to fear. I watch the NFL to escape from reality, not be reminded of it.

I only half-kiddingly think all of the discontent by franchise QB's (Rodgers, Wilson, Watson) this offseason has a lot to do with this.

I get the feeling JD rated AVT much higher than Jenkins or he would have not traded up. Rumor has it a few teams were very high on him too and ready to jump on him. Raiders for one.

If he’s following that blueprint, he won’t draft for need.
Hard to tell so far as we have so many needs, every pick fills a need lol.

I hope you are right, as those 2 teams are exact ones I’d like to model after.

I disagree. Taking D would be a mistake. The need is to protect Zach and upgrade his weapons so he can flourish. Defense can wait.

Creed or Jenkins at #34? Maybe.

Tevin Jenkins or WR is my guess for the Ravens.

Great pick for the Brownies. He would've looked good In green though. :/

You might be on to something, but if talent meets value meets need, I always wondered why more teams didn’t do this

I think it’s smart but we’ll see how it works out

Wonder if the Jets take Dax Milne or Matt Bushman to give Zach a receiver he's familiar with.

I like we got a solid OL. Losing 2 3s hurts but just imagine we trade down a 34 a still high value pick for a late 2nd rd and hopefully 3rd rd in return. This means the Jets could get 2,3,4,4,5,5,6,6, still 8 picks and still get a high end CB, solid RB, DE and another OL within the next 4 picks. Still quality prospects.

So I don't understand half the board tonight. All the complaints about trading two 3rd round picks for a player like AVT and a 4th is amazing value. The 1sts are a complete wash in my book. He is compared to Zack Martin and to a slightly lesser version of Q Nelson. Not to mention when Becton misses 3 games next year the kid can kick back out to LT.

If the people complaining tonight were so concerned with draft picks the best option would have been to keep Sam and trade 2. We would have gotten a shitload or premium picks to rebuild the team

I disagree. The blueprint could be (and should be) fixing the offense so that Zach has a true chance to succeed. Defense would do nothing to help him succeed. Defense can wait until next year.

What do you call the tradeup for AVT? OG was our biggest need.

Have to give JD a grade of B- to C for the 1st Round. He hardly hit this one out of the park. He will need to make up ground in the remaining rounds.
