Okay folks. We got too much tension on the board lately. Let’s have a light hearted thread where Wilson camp and Fields camp can at least agree on.

What is the best food and drink combo for draft night?

But more importantly what’s on tap as food and drink?

Special thanks to @patleahy for inspiration.

Since I'm in Florida until June its going to be stone crab apps (stone crab season ends in 2 weeks) and Grouper with sour orange sauce and martini relish over polenta for the main course.

I always let the draft picks decide what I'm drinking. Round 1's 1st Jets pick will be champagne with the stone crab. Stoli O martini for their second 1st round pick along with main course then probably unoaked Chardonnay after that, its too hot here for red wine and if I want to make it to through the end of night I'll need to down shift a bit.

Potent weed & Mushrooms is usually the best combination for the draft. Every Jets draft pick looks like the next Joe Montana & Jerry Rice. I don't recommend alcohol since you may get extremely intoxicated, sick to your stomach & violently angry watching the Jets draft.

Worse than the Jeff Lageman selection? I think that was the debut of Mel Kiper on ESPN & his first major bash was the Jets. That is my most memorable Jets draft moment. Mel Kiper blasting the Jets for taking Jeff Lageman. Everyone was like who the hell is Jeff Lageman. I had never heard of him before & this was our first round pick.

Although we passed on Sapp, everyone knew Kyle Brady.

haha one of my favorite memories was watching the NFL draft as a kid with my uncle, and how, since it was always held in NYC and since the Jets were the Jets, ESPN would always build up the Jets selection and the Jets fans reactions to that selection, knowing that they were going to go crazy and boo and scream, etc.

ESPN always loves to rag on the Jets and Knicks during the draft. I'll probably flip between ESPN and NFL Network. I think this year should be interesting at #2 since there are so many differing opinions on the QBs. Thankfully SF picks next & they will most likely take Mac Jones so I think the Jets bashing will be short-lived. That's so cool we get a second pick in round 1, so we have an active interest the entire night. Perfect year to consume a lot of whatever on draft night.

Going out for happy hour to celebrate finishing my master's degree and watching the Jets take Wilson.

Plan on drinking lots of IPAs, slamming a ton of nachos, ton of buffalo wings, and a fat burger.

haha I also fondly remember the Blair Thomas selection in 1990, major33! I don't know why, but the three Jets selections that stand out to me are: Blair Thomas, Jeff Lagemann (which you reminded me of in your post, haha) and Kyle Brady.
