Gotta like this. could be trading our 2nd to slide back into the end of the 1st and have 3 1sts possibly. or packaging our 2nd and 23rd OA to move up higher in the draft. should be interesting for sure but I like the work JD puts in

JD ain't trading the 2nd overall pick. That's a given with all the Wilson news coming out

I’m surprised that there hasn’t been anything posted about JDs pre draft presser?!

smoke screen central with the move up! I don’t see it unless it’s for an absolute slam dunk prospect and I just can’t see it that JD spending that capital with so many holes

not 2OA, meant trading our 2nd rounder and like a 4th to slide back into the 1st and have 3 1st rounders

I think it’s worth going for a top offensive lineman and moving up with the pick. There isn’t much else I would trade up for though.

I would be a fan of moving up--particularly if a guy like Sewell, Slater, Tucker and maybe Jenkins slide....

He’s looking to trade up or he’s doing his due diligence to keep his options open?

He meant the second round pick to move up. But don’t dismiss JD trading the 23rd either up or down.

I've been saying trade up since day 1. I want to move up from #23 to be in a position to grab one of the top 5 O-lineman or the LB from ND. With 4 top picks next season, we have plenty of ammo to move up in this draft to get players that fit the new scheme.

This was how I interpreted the original Douglas statement as well. If you go by the Rich Hill Model of the draft value chart, 23 + 86 (or possibly 23 +107) can get you into 18-21 range. Basically if a guy who is in the 10-15 range on their board starts to fall, he might look into it

This might be wishful thinking, but based on that statement and who we have (or haven't) heard prominently, I'd guess this scenario would be targeting AVT or Jaycee Horn if they start to slip a bit.

All the guys you mentioned will be gone before the 15th pick. Those guys are 10 plus year anchors that will have a huge impact on their teams.

His answer was not a definite one, he was explaining how he prepares for trading out of a spot, whether it’s moving up in the draft or moving back. It’s a little misleading when you read what is tweeted and then listen to him explain his plan.

The possibility of him trading out and moving back from 23 is just as likely to happen.

If a guy like Jaylen Waddle starts falling past number 10,11, etc... packaging the 23 with a 2nd or something becomes very enticing.
    --

Waddle: "Thrilling, game-breaking talent who will come into the league as one of the fastest receivers to ever play the game."

Anyone has a video to the presser? Too much fake news out there, want to hear what he actually said.

Absolutely, but I just don't see JD being that flashy. I'm willing to bet it's more what Hughes said... if there's someone they like in the 4th, they know they can go get him. I could see JD moving up from 23 a few slots if Vera-Tucker or Jenkins is there and they have intel that neither will last to 23. I'm also fine with that.

Thanks Devil. Forgive my ignorance, but who is this Salfino guy? I think he totally misinterpreted JD comment.

all i can see is that the 23 or 34 is in play to slither 3-4 spots higher, if necessary.

we really didn't need the media to tell us this.
