I want to change my answer..

He was on QB#1 ranking on all NFL teams board since he was born.

He was scientifically engineered to be the next Patrick Mahomes even before Mahomes was an NFL QB.

I respect Mel for being an OG. He’s been doing it for a long time.

I have Zach Wilson for us
    Justin Fields/Zach Wilson > Darnold
    I’m not sold on Lawrence

or maybe just on the “draft radar”. Maybe that’s when they started to take him in “consideration”. I heard the scouts started to take a “serious” look based on how he handled the cutting of the umbilical cord.

1-oh come on, K'OB...you used to be one of the more enjoyable and reasonable/rational posters on the board...you are better than this. you know darn well that, while there have always been disagreements on the football board, things have taken on a much nastier tone over the course of the past few months, due to the increasingly contentious "Fields v. Wilson" debate. Come on, dude. you know that.

2-I was not "bemoaning" gifs in the abstract. While never a huge fan of them per se, I have no problem with a genuinely witty, and appropriate gif. My point (a point which BicketyBam made much more eloquently in his previous post in this thread) was simply that there is no place for the "sarcastic/insulting" gifs and memes which a lot of people use whenever someone honestly disagrees with them, as if they were 12 year old, passive-aggressive, middle school "mean girls."

Finally, regarding my use of the term, "beef", I am unfamiliar with what "rappers" say and do not say, since I have never been a fan of that type of "music." I assure you, that I am using "beef" in the classical sense of the term, which has been around since at least the latter half of the 17th century.

In summation, I have no beef with you, K'OB, and I trust that you have no beef with me. As already stated, I have always enjoyed your posts...in fact, as I recall, we once bonded (to a certain extent, at least) over your username and avatar, as we both became Jets fans around the same time in our life, and both fondly remember the mid 80's Joe Walton-led Jets teams. As such, I am not looking to engage in a "duel" with you within this thread, since we have far too many "personal duels" going on as it is, so I shall now take my leave of you, and wish you a good day over there in jolly, ole England. You're a good dude, K'OB. :););)

No question about it. A few here have gone totally over the deep end, taking over this thread with personal idiotic attacks, mockery and underhanded insults against those with a different view point, belittling not just the players but the members here with a myriad of one liners and gifs with the sole purpose of smearing mud.
What started out as a well though out discussion with pros and cons on the QB choices by some real knowledgeable members has degenerated into an unreadable and what you well describe as a total shit show. Insane.

    Pedigree is overrated.

Patrick Mahomes was a 3 star. He ended up at a school that also had Baker Mayfield and Davis Webb.

Maybe some of these high school recruiting guys need to get better at their job.

How in the world does N Dakota State keep getting top QBs that get drafted in the NFL?!

    Someone there has eyes.

Anyone excited for Davis Mills this year?

5 stars! #1 QB recruit out of high school.

That's such a generalized statement that it's hard to prove it right or wrong. Christian Hackenberg was on teams radars after his freshman season as was Patrick Mahomes. Obviously scouts are looking at everything.

The notion that Wilson was thought of as a first round prospect before this season is ludicrous.

I thought that’s what he was trying to say but he changed it to that he was just reporting. Dude is all over the place.

Did anyone say that their high school ranking is incredibly important?

Davis Mills will likely be drafted higher than you think because of his raw skills. I'd estimate end of second/mid third round.

There are so many factors that to into things like this. I'm not a big Mills fan because of his lack of experience and being buried behind Costello for his first two years before he got hurt. Combine that with the fact that Stanford was an absolute injury mess last year when he finally took over.

Poorly rated recruits become great players and highly rated recruits sometimes never see the field. It's the way it goes sometimes.

Was Mahomes considered a first round pick before his draft year season?

Deshone Kizer was considered the top QB before the season.

Does it really mean anything if Justin Fields was considered by all pundits as the 2nd best QB 2 years ahead?

I think given his track record of explosive results and big offensive numbers, he was much closer to being considered a first round prospect than Wilson was after his first two years. On top of the fact that he forced two premiere players to transfer which included a dark horse Heisman candidate and an eventual Heisman winner.

Find me one article or ranking that has Mahomes as a first round talent one year prior to the draft...!

it would be but rumor is they still could go QB. i mean we seen the cards draft QBs in the 1st in back to back years. Denver at 9 is very likely too.

he is one of those guys who basically "invented his own persona".....I suppose he deserves credit for successfully doing that, and for by force of sheer will and his uber-intense/obsessive personality and delivery, creating the whole "draft guru" profession, which didn't really exist before he invented it. I kinda view him like you might view Dick Vitale....shameless self-promoters and downright cartoonish characters who exist purely for their silly, over-the-top, "reality-tv-esque" entertainment value. I would include Screamin' A. Smith and Skip Bayless in that same group, lol.

No. Hence he rose up draft boards which is WHAT WE ARE SAYING IS HAPPENING WITH WILSON.
