That depends upon the quality of one's depth. Q. Williams "ineffective" on those 30% of snaps is better than a lot of players effective. Thankfully, our depth seems very good if Raskins can stay healthy, and then there's JFM..

more snaps also risk injury higher due to fatigue. saleh likes to rotate the d-line and keep them fresh. as did williams. most coaches do.

I know that Saleh likes to rotate his players, and I agree with that philosphy/approach. I was just pointing out that Q. Williams is better than most even when tired. Still, I'm glad that we have the depth and can rotate players. I've been of the philosophy for a long time that if a player is on a good team, he should get a chance to play. I've loved it since Buck Showalter was the Manager of the Yankees. It keeps everyone involved, morale high, keeps players fresh and hopefully healthier, and gives everyone a chance to contribute, which definitely helps when the inevitable injuries do happen.

Yea he should be playing 70-75% of the snaps, not 50-60. Aaron Donald is the good standard for IDL sand he plays about 85%.

Let's also remember that Quinnen was the #3 pick on the freaking draft.

Chris Jones is roughly at that mark too, without doing all the math. I can see Williams getting first down breathers due to our run stopping DT depth.

I think teams are going to start implementing snap count thresholds the more games are added to the season. 18 games is just around the corner.

Excellent point. With the increase to 17 games this season, snap count percentages will most likely go down for most players, as they should. Depth will become increasingly important, as will the strength, conditioning, and training depts. of teams.

Aaron Donald’s first four years snap count.
    67%, 79%, 76% and 74%.

Let’s not mislead people into thinking he was doing 85% out of the gate.
He was hurting but only played 46% and 54% in the playoffs last year.

    But I agree 70 -75 % is not unrealistic.

    Particularly in a 17-game schedule.

I just don't get player needing a breather. Maybe the Z WR running fly routs.

But even with 50 defensive snaps a game, each lasting about 5 seconds, that's only 250 seconds of actual play time, or about 4 or 5 minutes of exertion spread out over 3 friken hours.

Looks like we can sign Dee Milliner to play on the Oline now!

Huh? Have you ever played the game?

Furthermore, have you ever had a good take?

Yes, or course, and I NEVER came out. I even played some on the other side of the ball. MLB and FB on goal line. I played soccer too which was probably 10 times harder as far and wind. As far as my takes i'll leave that up to you.
