I’m going to have to agree, I have been reading additional information that Jets didn’t want a QB controversy and that’s another reason they moved Sam. It’s very likely they choose a QB.
Sam was one bad interception away from being booooooed out of MetLife. With or without a new QB. It wasn't worth the noise keeping him if we are drafting a new kid. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Finally, the #2 pick situation is clear: upgrade George Fant with Penei Sewell to protect FQB Morgan with #2 overall.
How could he afford a house in NJ? Clearly has character concerns, rich kid who is an entitled brat - uncle owns Jet Blue, parents are a pain, not a leader, selfish, and he's a know-it-all.
I'm good, thanks. I am happy for Sam to get a fresh start in Carolina, and happy Joe Douglas was able to get solid value with a 2nd, 4th and 6th round pick for him. It is truly unfortunate how Darnold's 3 years went in New York, but I think the future is looking up for the Jets and I think it is looking up for Sam too.
Why are teams so skiddish about QB controversy. Would they not bring in a LB to avoid a controversy? It’s weak sauce. Play the players who earn it, while giving the team depth for injuries.
I have no problem with it, and I agree with you that it’s soft. Maybe Joe just wants a focused group of guys and no distractions? He knows there’s a lot riding on this transition year and wants a minimum amount of issues with the team.
I'm extremely unhappy with the state of affairs that led to this. I'm so numb to this franchise. I don't even know what to say. I hope Wilson is everything his supporters say he is. I'll root for him. But the way things have gone the last decade I don't have much hope.
They tell you it's not a top down organization... Yet here we are, Saving $$ and Trying to sell tickets....again. The Johnsons suck Donkey dick.
Having QB's compete for a starting gig, like any other position, is not a distraction. I think it's just another GM taking the approach of trying insulate "their" pick, and thus their own job because they made that pick. Sends the wrong message to the team imo when a player doesn't have to compete because he's the GM's "guy".
