Don’t bother scouting the best QB. We’ll win the last two games of the 2024 season and draft JaMarcus Russell’s stepson at #3.

Darnold didn't give him any reason to feel positive. In fact Wilson brings more job security for now

I wonder if the next GM can score a second for Wilson?

Good value for Sam. I wish the 6th this year was more a 4th but I’m liking 2 1s next year and 2 2s for pieces to build around Zach

Not a bad Haul for Sam.
Live in NC and Panthers are my second (NFC) team, so if Sam turns it around and becomes something I will not be all too upset.

JD has just increased the value of the second overall pick. He’s going to get a bounty for it, he’s going to trade back and stay in top 10 and provide and influx of talent to the Jets.

    JD is not done yet.

At least I’m hoping for this to happen.

Joe Brady is a good coach for him.

Would be interested to see if the Jets start packaging picks to move up in the first round with the #23.

Things could get interesting in the next couple weeks.

that's insane. all JD did with this is further cement the fact he's taking a QB 2nd overall. jags, jets, and niners are all taking QBs and not trading out.

why would we do that? we want more picks to rebuild not trade up. trading down is more likely

Even if Darnold ends up thriving somewhere else it doesn't mean he would have thrived here if he stayed. Sometimes a change of scenery works wonders. No ill will towards Darnold, I hope this works out for him and the Jets both. I'm glad to see JD got what virtually everyone thinks was maximum value pick-wise in the deal. The draft just got that much more interesting.

Could use that 2 and 4 to move up in 2022.

Let’s not start with the excuses. JD is a big boy. He understands the consequences on his decisions.

Well ... I think it's a mistake (I would have drafted the tackle from Oregon and let Darnold exist without Gase for at least a year), but let's hope we're not doing it all over again in three years with Wilson. Better build an offensive line.

There is more career risk to JD keeping Sam who hasn't proven he's capable of being a FQB (not all his fault) than selecting any of the consensus top QB's in this draft. At least he's not moving up from 6 to 3 to do so like mac dopey.

I just hope that whoever we're picking at #2 is not this year's Ryan Leaf...
