Pro days are only meaningless when it's Wilson bro.

Could Mac Jones be like a Chad Pennington type? Not really athletic. Not a great arm. Cerebral, can read a defense really well. I guess Jets fans would sign up for that, but the NFL has changed since he was in the league.

You'd rather have a Fields, Lawrence, Lance or Wilson type, I would think.

Whoa no way. A very high potential NFL draft pick having a good pro day?!

I can see how a scout can say that. How often do you think they get to see a QB run a 4.4 then throw the ball like that? You let me know; I’ll wait.

At this point in the draft I feel good with both QBs (Wilson, Fields) although part of me feel we will screw it up somehow.

My perfect scenario would be a trade down and still get Fields if not just select Wilson.

I can’t see taking Mac Jones because you’re gambling on him being elite at all of the things Brady, Brees, and Manning are. That’s a really tough gamble to make. He has no other outs to make it, and is a wasted pick to me if he’s not just so much better at the traits that are tough to evaluate. He has nothing else to fall back on.

At least with Wilson, Lance, Lawrence, and Fields, they are all good athletes and can do well even if they never have elite traits at the NFL level.

Very accurate overall. Pretty good velocity. Missed a few intermediate and deep balls. Not as fluid throwing on the run as Wilson.

Not often and it the grand scheme it does mater as much. I mean 4.4 is utterly good for a QB but it does not guarantee success. It's a major plus though.

  11. It wasnt intended to be a knock. I dont judge QB prospects based off if they can play year 1 or not. Hes still a very good QB prospect. My opinion really hasnt changed except he likely has a better arm than i anticipated

fields has a better arm and althletic ability then jones. jones has a better head on his shoulders. it comes down to would you rather have RG3 or chad pennington.
QB position is all cerebral. most of the best QBs didn't have the best arms. peyton manning, tom brady, russ wilson, drew brees, rivers, etc. of course we had favre, mahomes, rodgers etc. gauging a QB is really difficult. I expected fields to look better today then jones. he's a better athlete and thrower. that's what these pro days are about. but I need the guy who fits my system and can run an offense. not just wow in shorts

Hence why I can see why a scout could make such a statement. Doesn’t mean Fields is a HOFer.

Chad is a dinosaur in today’s NFL. It’s like asking if you would rather have Steph Curry or John Havlicek right now.

Right, I am just saying that is how you can justify Mac Jones being mocked in the Top 3 as some people are doing right now. I don't see any other reason, because the other QB's all look better and more NFL-caliber.

As pointed prior, Fields on paper is one the best QB prospect you can wish for but he is still dropping in the eyes of some scouts. Which make you wonder how the discussion & interview proccess have been going.

Maybe they feel he is not there in term of reading defense and executing NFL plays or whatever.

I dont think so. A smart, accurate QB will always have a place in the league

After seeing all the Pro Day workouts (and discounting them heavily because they're scripted workouts in shorts), my board is:

    1. Lawrence
    T2. Wilson
    T2. Fields
    4. Lance
    5. Jones

I said it before but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if after allllll the hoopla, freakin Mac Jones becomes the best of the group SMH
