He is not perfect, but he didn't really like any of these guys, including Jones, whom he slightly underestimated. I would consider it a minor mistake, since Jones didn't exactly set the League on fire. But all things considered, Simms' record so far has been nothing short of remarkable.
What's he saying about the QBs this year? OK, I looked Dan Shonka up. He is the scout for OurLads. Here are his rankings for QB this year in this rankings of the top 50 players: 1. Trevor Lawrence 2. Mac Jones 3. Justin Fields 4. Trey Lance 5. Zach Wilson The site is weird because not many prospects for this year's draft come up in search. The only QBs that come up are Mac Jones, Trevor Lawrence, David Moore, and Jamie Newman. Travis Etienne is there, but not Najee Harris, Javonte Williams, but Pooka Williams is there. There's no analysis, either. They want you to buy their draft guide. Eff them.
Don’t know. I noticed the headlines included both . They might go back and forth. They call it Path to the draft. It’s on at 9am here in LA.
and Sorry, I was copying and pasting, and didn't notice that I had left out Fields. That's on me, not the scout.
Legler, I had a thought yesterday that made me wonder if your body/heart would be able to handle it. What if the Jets end up loving Fields, but have put up a perfect smokescreen with Wilson. Atlanta, for whatever reason in this hypothetical - just go with it, loves Wilson and decides to trade up for him to #2. Jones/Lance goes #3 to the Niners, Jets end up with Fields AND additional high- end future draft capital. Would you be able to avoid the potential cardiac event?
I think they will just be showing highlights at 6:00 I think. Anyway, I have the Big 10 network so I will be watching it live.
The cardiac arrest would be unavoidable. It’s just a matter of if I would recover in time to see us land Fields in the end.
its a pro day. really nothing to see here. im sure he will knock it out of the park. i WANT this kid to be a great pro qb. he is absolutely the easiest kid to root for. go watch qb1 season he was in it shows a little bit about him as a kid before he became a star. so many qbs come off as assholes on the show, and make them impossible to root for. this kid however came off fantastically for me. so on one hand i want the jets to draft him and for him to do well. but its the nfl and its really a crapshoot on what qbs will be great and which wont. he has all the tools though. and thats why for me the answer is deshaun watson. because he has proven it already. but apparently our gm doesnt think that way. i hope he kills it and goes to a situation with a great support staff and ends up being a phenomenal nfl qb.
I can definitely see where Sam's ability is not unlike that of Zach. Big arm, throwing on the run, mobility, big time throws, etc... That's what made Sam a great prospect to begin with. However, Sam has not been know for his meticulous opponent study, dedication of driving 10 hours to work with the best coaches. More importantly, Sam was bottom 5 QB in TO worthy plays. He was not even in top 20 for accuracy from clean pocket. Zach leads these categories. Sam is still struggling with clean pocket accuracy being last there in NFL and still TO prone. So, yeah we can compare him to Sam as far as ability, but without the accuracy and TO issues out of College, different approach to studying the position, we are looking at a completely different guy here.
