Spotrac says the minimum salary in 2021 for a guy with four to six service years is $990,000.

I just saw Lindsey signed with Texans, would have preferred him more than Coleman!

So likely cuttable in camp. I don't want to say "these poor guys" cause it's still a lot of money but the free agents got shafted this year relative to every other year.

Cuttable yes but unless he’s hurt, he’s starting. It’s actually crazy he’s only getting that much guaranteed. Like you said, any other year he’d be getting more.

Who starts and who plays seems to be irrelevant to these guys. He started 11 games in 2019 and only had 137 carries which tied Mostert who didn't start a single game + 14 more than Breida.

I doubt he's playing much by mid season even if he starts the year as the guy.

Starter is the wrong word especially in an offense where 15 average RBs = one good one. If he's healthy he's going to stay in the rotation because he's a good player. The "if" just so happens to be a large one.

Is he? He hasn't really been a good player since one good season in 2018 with Atlanta in a contract year. They had the 21st ranked rushing offense that year with him as the lead back.

Any year he's been healthy he's average at least 4 YPC and he's a threat out of the backfield. I'm just saying, a lot of people are ready to write this off like he's a veteran being brought in to compete for a spot in camp or to just be a locker room mentor... I don't think that's the case at all. He's going to play.

I mean he's pretty comparable to Bilal Powell. And I'm sure everyone always liked Bilal Powell but he's always been a rotational backup at best. Same with Coleman. He's OK I guess. If you don't average at least 4.0 YPC you won't be around too long. The only four in the top 50 rushers to not hit that mark were Gore, Josh Jacobs, Mike Davis and Adrian Peterson.

Decent tidbit from Cimini here. This is AFTER injury last year. Make no mistake about it, he’s going to lead our backfield unless we draft a top tier RB

Cimini has something wrong here. Coleman's longest run or reception was 18 yards year. I can't imagine him hitting 22 mph in 18 yards lol. If he did, then he should start and $400k is a bargain.

It measures all players on the play I believe so he could have been blocking or just running a wheel route that wasn’t thrown to him or completed.

Would have liked to have seen Robinson on the Jets radar, under used in KC

This tidbit is in the new Cimini column:

"8. Still speedy: Coleman is a decent bargain addition to the backfield (one year, $1.1 million), but let's make one thing clear: He's a complementary back, not an RB1. The Jets still don't have one of those.

One thing about Coleman surprises me, though: He has maintained his speed. His max speed last season was 21.78 mph (post-knee sprain), according to tracking data by NFL Next Gen Stats. For perspective, consider the max speeds of the Jets' backs in 2020: La'Mical Perine, 19.72; Ty Johnson, 19.29; Josh Adams, 19.10; Le'Veon Bell, 18.31; Frank Gore, 18.08.

Speed always is important, but it's especially so in the new offense, a zone running scheme that requires backs to make one cut and accelerate quickly."

I find it incredibly hard to believe that Perine is faster than Johnson and Adams. Both looked much faster than Perine. I love to hear the speed (in mph as a comparison) of the RBs in the draft.

I'm not having Perine as the fastest RB on our squad, not a chance is he faster than Johnson and Gore at 18mph was he on rocket skates when they clocked him, he doesn't run far enough to get clocked for time lol

I saw a 40 something yard TD run on Twitter, that I think was from last year. Am I mistaken? Was that from 2019?
