It will be nice not having to hear about how Frank Gore is 40 years away from some milestone every game. Like we were even eagerly looking for that lol
I can't remember which poster said it, but I hope that Perine is traded or released following TC. I hope our RBs are Coleman, rookie, Johnson and Adams. I hope the four of them get to compete for the starting job.
The only RB that I remember seeing that the Jets have spoken with so far is Jarret Patterson of Buffalo, and he's projected as a 5th round pick. Javian Hawkins is also projected as a 5th round pick. Either would be a nice addition. Kylin Hill may be a 5th round pick as well, and he looks pretty darned good as well.
Have you watched any Javian Hawkins video? If not, I urge you to. He as awesome speed and elusiveness. He's not as complete a back and is much lighter than Patterson and Hill, but could be a huge HR threat in our offense. I've only watched a little Kylin Hill video, but he looked very impressive in what I saw. I need to watch more of him myself.
pretty small though ain't he and what blows my mind is that he ran for a zillion yards and like 3 TDs per game in 2020 but had 0 catches
It seems like a lot of WRs, RBs, and CBs are small this year. He's 5'9", 195 lbs. Other RBs Javian Hawkins is 5'9, 196 lbs. Jaylen Waddle is 5'10", 182 lbs. Michael Carter is 5'8", 199 lbs. Kenneth Gainwell is 5'11", 195 lbs. Demetric Felton is 5'9", 186 lbs. WRs Kadarius Toney is 5'11" and 1/8 but weighs only 189 Elijah Moore is 5'9, 185 lbs. Tylan Wallace is 6'0", 190 lbs. D'Wayne Eskridge is 5'9", 190 lbs. Rondale Moore is 5'9, 180 lbs. Ihmir Smith-Marsette is 6'1", but only 179 lbs. TuTu Atwell is 5'9", 165 lbs. Dazz Newsome is 5'11'', 190 Dyami Brown is 6'0", 185 lbs.* CBs Asante Samuel, Jr. is 5'10", 184 lbs. Elijah Molden is 5'10", 191 lbs. Tyson Campbell is 6'2", 185 lbs. * Eric Stokes is 6'1", 185 lbs. * Thomas Graham, Jr. is 5'11", 196 lbs. Shakur Brown is 5'11", 190 lbs. Kary Vincent, Jr. is 5'10", 189 lbs. * Even though these players are over 6' they are slender for that height. There are a slew of other CBs who are 6'0 and in the 190 lbs. range as well. Seems like this is a smurf year.
I think the San Fran way is a rotation of backs. At least 3 will be in and out depending on the situation or who's hot that day. So they will need a stable of them as you and every other Jets fan know our players seem to get hurt more than others. The little under reported thing Douglas did this offseason was revamping the medical department. Not just the team doctor but the entire staff. From the head doctor down to the therapy department. Hope this makes a difference in the health and recovery of the players.
I want to see more of this guy playing,. well figuratively speaking of course Off to youtube to make myself feel tall lol EDIT he's 5ft 11" how disappointing was that
exactly!! RB playbook is not super complicated...there’s a reason why RB is the easiest position to transition into....this isn’t OL with multiple blocking schemes, or receivers who have to decipher coverages and adjust routes. I’m not buying the “teach the young kids the playbook” story at all not at RB
so how is $2m the vet minimum? I keep hearing we signed him for the minimum but I don’t think the minimum is $2M? in the end it’s not a huge issue but I would have MUCH preferred to spend $2M on OG or CB...not on an older RB who won’t even help on ST
