Stafford was 225 lbs at the Combine and normally plays at around 230 lbs. Wilson is a shade over 200 lbs. “Next” is a curious response.
As much as I love Wilson, I'm still worried. I suspect his durability is probably keeping the GM and CS up at night. He really doesn't seem to have the built and muscle mass to at least sustain the typical NFL hits he will encounter in his career. Jets will need to institute a strong weight/muscle mass gain program in place to at least get him up to the 220 range. Simms who loves him to pieces, was essentially in the same boat. Great arm, many say better than his dad, but did not have the thick, solid built like his dad and couldn't last in the NFL.
Well, up to yesterday, Mel Kiper had the Jets keeping Sam and not going QB at two with Wilson, which based on his past performance, almost guaranteed us taking Wilson. Today he changed his draft and has the Jets picking Wilson, so Wilson supporters, be very, very concerned. He is seldom right with QB picks.
Maybe I’m in the minority but I rather fail at trying to land a franchise QB than landing a good or even very good player at a less premium position. I might be crazy though.
None taken. I know I'm not the GM. I was just saying what I would do if I were the GM based on what I know now. If I were the GM in actuality, that might change with the additional info and experience that Douglas has.
Latest is that Davis signed with the understanding that Sam would be the QB. I don't know if that's good or bad news.
As long as said QB is not Hackenberg. That should tell us all we needed to know about Mac evaluating QBs
If any one was signing long term with a team as a wide out wouldn't they want to know who the QB was? Maybe this is why we have not heard a word from Sam or his agent?
They really don’t care. The best offer is the best offer for these guys. The only time it would come up is if 2 offers are exactly equal.
