Lotta money for a backup. But not really a problem this offseason as they have not given any major money to anyone except Lawson.

It's not that much money but it's still sort of puzzling. I like most of the signings but this guy reportedly sucks and it feels like another budget Van Roten signing.

Maybe he is a good fit for the wide zone. Or maybe he sucks and this signing will suck based on his history.

I also have been perplexed by the Feeney signing. But, looking deeper into his past Feeney was heralded as the best Offensive Lineman in school history and received many accolades in his four years at Indiana. I'm guessing Douglas has hopes that the Jets' coaching staff can give him some adjustments and bring him back to his former stature.

One thing Douglas loves is to find these under the radar gems, maybe Feeney will be another one.

One area, where so JD has not been active this off-season is improving OL. He replaced Pat Elflein;s loss by a slightly inferior player, which I guess is OK, but it's important to actually upgrade the guard spots AND add quality depth. Of course there is a draft, and other possible moves, trades still ahead, but we didn't really get a solid starter or any sort of upgrade in free agency, so, there is work to be done in this area.

Thanks for sharing. I also love how he moves up to the second line of defense and takes on a Linebacker, great play all around by him.

YW. I loved that play, too. If he ever sees the field for us, I hope that he can string a whole BUNCH of plays like that together!

I thought Elflein was ok down the stretch but I'd hardly say he was a far superior player to any other offensive lineman in the league honestly. Maybe Wayne Hunter back in the day.

What I find funny and maybe that says more about me and other UK guys but we would never wear another teams jersey if we already had a team, I would rather be dead than be seen wearing a Man Utd shirt or a Liverpool shirt etc

@donkey wouldn't wear an Oxford one @Doreblade would rather stick Sheffield steel in his eyes than put on a Wednesday shirt lol

I am, of course, presuming these guys already will have an ice hockey team they support.

I think your bottom presumption is wrong. Hockey is huge to the people that like it here, but not widely adopted.

You're pretty much born and given an allegiance to a football or baseball team here or you develop an obscure one because of exposure, much like soccer over there. You're probably much less exposed to hockey unless your dad's a big hockey fan here.

I doubt Wilson from Utah or George Fant from Kentucky are big hockey guys.

Well tbh I started off the post thinking they were at a basketball game lol, I only quickly edited ice hockey in after originally posting

I didn't realise Ice hockey wasn't as well-liked, is it a Northern US sport, closer to Canada etc?

Yes pretty much. Ice hockey has always been, and likely will always be, a distant 4th sport in the US behind football, baseball and basketball. Also, Wilson and Feeney are from parts of the country where hockey isn’t very popular nor prevalent, nor are there any NHL teams near them.
I have a several friends from Indiana who couldn’t care less about hockey.
