When did I say he couldn’t? Was just pointing out it’s kinda dumb to say he’s great because belichick drafted him because he also cut him lol
Yea doesnt really make any sense...We have been in contact with Ju Ju im still hoping we sign him and trade Crowder.
I've thought about Robby a lot. As you guys know, there's thousands of decisions that come across your desk throughout the year and I go back and I look at what I could have done better in specific situations. I thought our guys really did a fantastic job of really analyzing every position group's market value leading up to free agency last year and I think what was wrong with us and Robby, we thought that Robby's value was going to be even greater than what he signed for in Carolina. I think that's on me ultimately and that's on us moving forward to get a better handle on every player's market value. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-...regrets-letting-robby-anderson-leave-new-york
Just think of it this way. If they had paid Robby to stay, the Jets might have played just well enough to save Gase's job. And if not, we might be looking at the 8th overall pick this year and realizing that Robby is a terrible fit for the new offense.
Agreed. The same thing is true of JD getting hired after the draft. If Chris Johnson had fired Mac prior to FA and the draft, we might have someone less qualified as our GM, as the Eagles had already turned down two teams requesting interviews with JD prior to FA.
I love how Douglas signed players like Corey and Jarrad Davis. Carl Lawson too. They all would have been good picks by the Jets, but they drafted poorly instead (besides Adams), so this is kind of erasing the bad drafts in recent years. Davis had high upside, as you see in that draft video. Perhaps his best is yet to come.
Not sure it was mentioned at all in this thread but NFL's Kim Jones asked Davis was it his understanding before he signed that Sam would be the starting QB for the 2021 season and he said I believe so. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
I am sure the Jets brass went over that with him before his presser, and that was the answer they wanted him to give. It is the right one, at the moment.
He could've but whether the Jets are looking at him as the starter or not they surely want the exterior messaging to be that he is. Even if it can't necessarily help his value (although I think it can), it doesn't hurt it.
This. JD admitted he made a mistake. Funny thing is, Robbie is EXACTLY the type of player JD is looking for in FA. Young, talented, ready to break out but just hasn't exploded yet on their current team and is available in FA. Robbie is the kind of player JD would have jumped on in FA (when he left the Jets, b4 Carolina).
I love how people leave out what else he said, he also said the uncertainty at the QB position did not scare him, what else is he going to say, you sign with a team, you obviously are going to give the current QB your endorsement.
