Phillip Lindsay is an intriguing option. He's a scheme fit and probably won't cost too much, but we may need to overpay a bit to persuade the Broncos not to match. I'd prefer Jamaal Williams but LIndsay should be in consideration.
I don't want the contract either. However, the Bears just restructured the deal and it would only be for 1 season most likely as a stopgap to help mentor the youngins. My preference is to draft a good young LB. I want picks over players, so yes, I'm like you, rather not take on salary. But for one year or 2 that doesn't hurt the cap, I can live with it. But I want young fast hard-hitting LBs.
wouldn’t a RB be easy enough to find in the draft though? I’d rather draft RBs on cheap rookie deals and use free agency on roles like OL, pass rush, CB, WR, etc I like the signings we’ve made (though I still do have PTSD from the bullshit moves that Barr and Winfield made in agreeing to a deal then reneging on that deal, so until the contracts are actually signed on Wednesday I’ll be holding my breath) I’m hoping we find at least one good G in free agency and a good corner, then I’ll be pretty happy going into the draft. it’d be nice to sign one of those SF QBs to replace Flacco and then see what we do with Sam vs #2 pick...or maybe it’ll be keep Sam and still draft a QB at 2. Fun stuff...
I like him, I don't think they needed to usurp him with Gurley, I also like Sutton from them, not that he is a FA was just saying
CBCS Top 100 Tracker Link: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...on-where-the-top-100-free-agents-have-signed/ Best players left: 5 Trent Williams (32) OT 10 Kenny Golladay (27) WR 19 Curtis Samuel (24) WR 20 William Jackson (28) CB 24 Anthony Harris (29) S 25 Melvin Ingram (31) EDGE 28 JuJu Smith-Schuster (24) WR I doubt we sign any more receivers in free agency. Jackson or Harris would fill a hole.
Pass. This is a trade to make if you're those pieces away from making a run, not to draft a QB as part of a rebuild.
After reading all these comments I get the feeling that a lot of posters think FA is a football version of the Great Easter Egg Hunt - Douglas has to scurry around, trying to beat all the other GMs and sign as many of the best FAs available or he loses. SMH. I understand that for Jets fans the off season is our playoffs, and it's about the only taste of victory we've gotten for years, but that doesn't change the reality. The reality is that if JD adds 3-4 starters that improve the team, and a handful of supplemental players to add depth, he will have done a good job. Instead, some people here seem to be thinking he can rebuild the entire roster with FAs. But based on what he's gotten so far, he's most of the way through a successful FA period. The only major piece not acquired yet is an interior OL better than what we have. People need to get their expectations in line with reality.
Kraft must of stopped going to those special massage parlors so they have more money in the budget now, he is dishing them out like the Male version of Oprah!!!
Mack wouldn't be playing lb for us, he would be a de. A pass rusher. Which we just signed one of. We don't need him, and should absolutely not waste anything on him. If they want to make a trade for wilson using Darnold they can give us their 1st for Darnold and figure it out on their own.
LOL...saw a tweet yesterday that said Kraft was spending free agency money like he was in a massage parlor
I just had a hilarious text conversation with my cousin, he believes we signed Richard Sherman. I was head desking hard.
LoL if he was spending money like that in those parlors he sure had some fun bc thats a lot of dough he dished out yesterday and still going at it today with Henry
