Henry is gone bro, told you Pats out here dishing out money like its a giveaway they got Henry and Smith
Exactly! IMO the idea of trading for Wilson is flat out nuts. The Jets aren't close to being a serious contender, and that is the only reason that it would make sense to trade for Wilson. He probably will only play 3-4 more years. The Jets may not even be serious contenders by that point, and at best, they'd probably have a 2-year window. The awful ideas that some Jets fans think are good just blow my mind.
I also think this is going to work with New England and wouldn't be surprised if they try to use multiple quarterbacks. They ran the ball all over everyone last year and had the best special teams units in the league. They always draft offensive lineman well so they're going to do the same thing only they have weapons that Cam Newton can use (favorite targets are tightends and backs - see; Olsen, Greg and McCaffrey, Christian) and they'll return to the dink and dunk they used in the early Brady years. Two tightends, big offensive lineman and bruising runningbacks in cold bad weather North Eastern games is a winning recipe.
Aren't DL getting smaller in an effort to be faster and generate more pass rush? If so, they can definitely play smashmouth football. They can trot out a 4 TE offense. They signed two decent WRs, at least one of whom is a good blocker. They can possibly draft Lance or Fields and Javonte Williams or Sermon, and run the ball down other teams' throats.
I like the three team trade between us, the Bears and Seattle. Darnold plus 3 Chicago firsts to Seattle Wilson to Chicago Khalil Mack or Robinson or whatever to us. I can't see them trading Robinson & I don't want to spend big money on a WR this season. Corey Davis is fine. Mack is 30 so that is a concern, but he can just be a nice stop-gap and a good influence on the defense. Pete Carroll is speaking glowingly of Darnold and apparently loves him. Probably because of the USC connection. Good luck with that, Pete, after driving Russ out of town.
yeah I just don't see Cam being good enough to stop the box from being crowded, they force him to throw and he isn't very accurate. Its a good plan, but you need a slightly better QB who the D can respect to make it really work. I think they only reason they are going to this way is the market and FA predicted it. They cant really improve the QB play this is the next best thing imo
Now if they draft one of the Qbs who actually turn out to be any good, then we def have a problem because they do have some talent on that team
probably you like many others have zero idea how contracts actually work and how they affect the cap/ We also haven;t seen the actual contract terms yet.
I agree but we’re going to be left in the dust unless a rookie QB turns out to be amazing almost immediately
They’re not really getting smaller per se, they are getting better BMI’s though. There are still lots of big fat guys in the league, plenty available. LB’s are getting smaller though.
