No, you wouldn't be regretting signing a big IOL. The Jets need two OGs, not just one. They need a proven OG at one spot, not just 2 rookies. Having a great veteran OG at one spot and Vera-Tucker at the other would mean that they finally should have a great OL and the new QB doesn't have to worry about getting beaten to death.
Here's one for certain would be gone and wishing that Douglas gets fired and the Jets never win another game!
I liked Anderson but the Jets overpaid him. Solid 5T in the 3-4 if you put the right talent behind him. This is the first I heard NE signed him, that sucks.
But this is a great year with a lot of talent. In a lot of years FA sucks. No one good is available and the Tier 2 FAs are getting Tier 1 money. this is the year to spend the money.
I don't see it that way. The Pats picked up younger players with still a lot of upside [not sure about Agholor]. Looks more to me like he's grabbing young talent and creating depth to move forward with potentially a young QB. Nothing he did today is going to cripple them cap-wise down the line. If anything, after the moves today, to fill so many holes, this may be the year he uses his draft capital, and perhaps Gilmour to move up for a QB in the draft.
Not me. McGovern is better at C than OG. It never made sense to me to sign a 30-year-old center to a big contract and move a younger player to his 2nd best position.
What even sxcks more is Jacksonville still has more cap money and has signed nobody. The second layer of free agents and they can afford to beat us
Swap out Trai Turner (G) for Jamaal Williams. Don't think Williams running style fits the stretch zone scheme. Then maybe we can draft Etienne.
That's fine. I wanted Thuney, but there's no way that we should have paid more than that. I'm pissed because JD could have signed Kevin Zeitler for around $8 million a year. He could have already signed Gabe Jackson, or Kenny Golladay or Curtis Samuel or some really good player at a position of need. Who has he signed a 2nd tier LB. He is too conservative and moves too slowly.
Wrong. Zeitler signed. Jon Feliciano is re-signing with the Bills. There's not a whole lot left at OG in FA Gabe Jackson and maybe Forrest Lamp, but the latter has not been as good in the NFL as he was in college.
I don't agree with this at all. What are you even talking about? The Johnsons have spent a lot in the past. As recent as 2019. It just didn't work. They spent a lot with Tanny as GM too and got some success. I don't think Joe Douglas is answering to anyone about his current moves and decisions. He is building the team how he and Robert Saleh want it. Like I wrote earlier, give it a few days before you assume he is not going to spend any money.
Clowney and Turner? Please. Clowney sucks as a pass rusher and Turner is done. He was awful last year. If JD signs them, he should be fired imo.
