He wasn't a scheme fit for Matt Patricia's 3-4 Lions. Had a solid season a couple years back in the 4-3 which Saleh will run here. Also played with Marcus Maye at Florida. They both came out of the 2017 draft. I don't know this but perhaps they remain close friends...
Basically every report I've read about him and most of the Lions boards are in agreement that he was tragically misused in a 3-4 defense after being drafted into a 4-3 and flourishing in 2018. We'll see if that's true, could be a find, could be a JAG. I prefer to lean towards the former because fuck Matt Patricia.
Honestly the guy is a low risk boom or bust who will probably be competing with a mid round draft pick for his job and the chance to prove himself for a long term deal. I don't really see a downside for this signing.
these are the type of signings you make on day 4, not day 1 as your first signing. this team doesn't think big and that is a very big problem.
3/14-3/21 will be a big week for FA Jet signings ..Jarrod Davis just the appetizer before the main course no doubt
I'm guessing Saleh sees Davis as a guy who could be his Dre Greenlaw. Undersized, speedy guy to man the Will position. Personally i thought Hewitt could have provided similar production for less.
