I would be fine “missing out” on Thuney if we are going to get into a bidding war with the Pats for an interior lineman.
Forgot who said it on Twitter and I can't seem to find it but someone made an interesting point about the guard market. The last two guards who signed big contracts both got cut before the contract was played out. Maybe only $12.5 - $13/year gets it done vs the $17/year I've seen some people throw around for Thuney. It isn't even 9 am yet and I have done nothing in the office but refresh Twitter for 4 hours. Yikes.

I was planning on posting OL tweets in the FA gaurds thread and WR tweets in the What have you seen from JD that makes you think thread. Cuz anarchy is pretty sweet.
Watching all these teams restructure contracts just shows that the salary cap can always be manipulated. More teams are going to be involved in FA than people think.
Yup. It's why I laugh when people bring up big contracts being a killer for a team. They never, ever are.
He's talking about the percentage threshold that teams are required to spend over a four year period. Not the amount of money we have available against the cap.
Agree. Remember when players would fuck with our prior incompetent GMs and use us as a pawns to drive the price up, like that massively over paid and under achiever Cousins and others. We should now use the opposite tactic to force the teams to over pay for their top free agents and not give them a home town discount. nothing gives me more pleasure than sticking it to BB.
Cheer up teammates. The most exiting time of year for a Jet fan is about to begin. Free agency followed by the draft. This is the time when all the hopes, dreams, desires and expectations to make this team great again are at their highest. Once the season begins unfortunately reality sets in quickly and we fall back down to earth hard. Let this year be different and the beginning of a new road to the playoffs.
