True. Sports is definitely entertainment, but improving players health and safety is serious business for such a violent sport.
Absolutely. What the Jets are doing here looks great, especially with the inclusion of psychological attention which I've pointed to as something that could have benefitted Darnold. But we're not involved, we're just guys making comments on the internet. Nothing at all that gets posted here is going to have a scintilla of an effect on the well being of a single player; this too is supposed to be entertainment.
My uncle is Dr. Bitcoinrosensteinbergensilvercohenhoffenstern, not Dr. Goldenrosensteinbergensilvercohenhoffenstern. But we just call him Dr. Bitcoin for short.
1. I don’t believe the owners actually win games 2. Games aren’t for a few month. If that’s you’re only interest then maybe circle back in a few month when the games are playing
1. They may not win them, but they've sure done a good job ensuring the team loses them. 2. Ownership has a longstanding pattern of releasing positive PR that turns out to look really stupid once the games are played (seriously, if I see one more dumbass One Jets Drive video, I'm going to throw up).
Considering the owners choose the decision makers at all levels (and specifically ours who have a history of separating the coaches and front office), they are fully in control of what the on-field product is.
I wonder who's idea this was. All this mind/body stuff sounds like it came from the west coast, so probably Saleh's. Someone had to approach Woody "Hey, boss man, we need another 1/2 mill to hire a zen master for the players. Cool?"
I got the impression that it was Douglas' idea, perhaps after all the injuries this past season, but it could have been Saleh or even a collaborative thing.
Being that the Jets were one of the most injured teams in the NFL (again), maybe they need to tweak whatever it is that they were trying to accomplish.
The Giants only had 49 players on IR all year while the Jets had 62. The Jets led the league in total players on IR almost the entire year until the Browns loaded people on IR this weekend totaling 63 overtaking us for the top spot. But, I agree maybe it is metlife. Every year we seem to have a ridiculous number of injuries.
I'm no doctor, but that's a valid point. Look at how many away teams get banged up here too. It's cursed.
