I agree also, but it would be more impressive if this wasn't the 4,328th thing he has whined about in the last 3 years.

if the other things he has "whined" about are as similar in importance as this, the n he has all right to whine. I have always been a huge fan of Merriman, but the substance abuse thing really set him back in my eyes. What a disappointment, I really hope he's telling the truth.

I like that he called out Merriman.

I dislike that he did it as a way to practically beg for Def. PoTY votes.

If you think that this is all he complains about, you haven't been paying attention (which is a good thing, since his usual comments are moronic).

As much as I hate the guy, if it came down to him and Merriman, I'd vote for him for the exact reason.

Even when Taylor's right, he's a stupid crybaby. No, Merriman shouldn't be rewarded for a season in which he was caught juicing, but Taylor shouldn't be acting all outraged just to try and win POTY.

Yeah. You're right. But in this case, his correctness far outweighs the level of crybabyness, if you will. Go Jason!! ugh

Its no surprise that once again Taylor after much bravado before MNF, ignores not only the game and what he said and doesnt give the Jets any credit.

Jason Taylor has been crying for 5+ years now. When will he accept that he has man love for Zach Thomas and just be at peace with himself.

    Loser.

In this cast Taylor is right. Merriman should not be allowed to even be in the running for that award, since he was caught cheating. He is correct that it does send the wrong message. Merriman should not be praised with an award, which he won by cheating.

I think we all agree on that, but when Taylor is the one complaining and openly campaigning for the award, you'll forgive me if I don't give a damn.

Taylor is right but is doing it for obvious selfish reasons which make him lose credibility in my opinion...

so what if he's doing it for himself? Wouldn't you be pissed if you lost to a juicer. He absolutely deserves the award and he knows it. So what? I hate Jason Taylor as much as the next Jet fan but he's right.

He is right.. however it just looks bad to complain about a personal award when his TEAM is struggling...

I hate Taylor and I have thought that Merriman was maybe the best Defensive player in the league? The fact is Taylor is going to go into the HOF playing DE at roughly 250Lbs. Salaries, bonuses and a persons career are all on the line based on whether or not you are willing to use growth hormon, blood dope or use steriods. If Taylor has been clean for his entire career, I can understand why this is an important issue to him. He is likely going up against guys who have been cheating for years and frankly if you have the balls to go up against 325Lbs. juicers every week and not only survive but excell, it is something to brag about and it wouldn't be a bad thing for a none juicer to be the DPOY.

I disagree Winston, I don't think taylor is a HOF player. He's been very good but he only has 5 double digit sack years out of 10, only 1 in the upper teewns, has ZERO career playoff sacks and was a leader of a D that allowed an average of 33 pts/gm in 5 playoff losses. He falls short.
