After watching these 2 guys perform some amazing stuff this weekend , it occured to me , if you had a time machine and after watching what you now know about both of these players and draft day was tomorrow , which one would you choose and why? Vince Young has pretty much made me eat crow, and then stuff my foot in my own mouth for god measure. He's a beast.
Mike Vick took the league by storm too, now he stinks. Alot of these young QB's have there moments, Bledsoe did, I'm sure even Klingler did. The jury is still out on Young. I think Cutler will be a better Qb.
Vick has not gotten worse as a passer and he eclipsed the 1000 yard mark as a runner for the first time in his career, so I'm not sure why you say he has gotten worse. He has some awful teammates (especially the WRs) and his head coach leaves something to be desired. You could maybe say Vick has not improved. But I don't think you can say he took the league by storm, but now stinks. Klinger never had a good moment in the NFL. I have seen enough. I am now convinced Vince Young is going to be a real good player for a long time so long as he doesn't get injured. That said, the basic tenet of your post is right.
I think Cutler will become one of the most dangerous QB's in this league. He's not a mobile as Young, but once he really learns the NFL, He just might make them forget Elway in Denver..
I think both of these guys have the potential to be great qb's. Young is winning games on raw talent imagine when he starts to really figure out how to beat a defense? And cutler, I think still that the Broncos are really limiting him, trying not to get him in the pocket that long. I think he will be very good he certainly has the physical abilities. But I think the Jets needed a LT and for a rookie you really couldn't ask for much more from brick. If they had taken cutler at 4 and gotten a different tackle later in the draft I doubt we would be 8-6 now, Pennington would probably be injured again and Cutler would be playing and not having any time to pass. I think down the road Clemens will be good and the first three picks of this regime Brick, Mangold and Clemens will be helping the Jets get to the playoffs consistently.
Vince Young. Guy is just a winner, and has unbelievable talent. He can kill you with his arm and his legs. He's like Micheal Vick, but good. :lol:
