If we draft a QB who plays we win 3-7 games most likely.

Rookie QB's tend to be the suck their rookie year.

Forget about Etienne. RB's picked in the later rounds have been the ones making a difference in the NFL.

Did you ask every NFL WR to come up with this list? You seem really confident that what you presented is fact.

For the record my opinion is that ARob would be none too thrilled at the prospect of being on the receiving end of Darnold passes. I never said that Robinson would follow Watson. There are other teams that have competent QB's that would be a good fit for ARob it's just that the Jets aren't one of them.

I’m making these moves specifically to compare apples to apples. What our Offensive roster could look like with Watson vs Darnold. If I start drafting defensive players with the extra picks it makes the comparisons, incomparable.

It's an example that's detached from reality then. We could draft three straight receivers in both examples, but it wouldn't happen so what's the point?

The roster needs to be constructed with balance, regardless of who the general manager is. And there's is zero chance we take two runningbacks as high as you suggested. I can't think of a team that's done it in the same draft because even terribly run franchises understand that it'd be silly.

Why in the world would we want to trade one of the best players we have, and a guy who's already shown that he's one of the top LTs in the NFL? That makes zero sense. The Jets should adopt the scheme to him. If not, JD hired the wrong HC and/or we are running the wrong freaking scheme.

It’s a simple example to show simple people concrete differences. I notice some people here “overthink” and fail to see the trees for the Forrest.

What's the roster differences if we draft a QB at 2 and trade Sam for a 2nd round pick?

Investing in the trenches is not dumb. Continually drafting the same position in the first round when you have already found an answer at that position is dumb.

I don’t have a problem with that scenario.
I’m wholeheartedly against trading the farm for Watson. Most Id go is 23, two 1sts next year and Darnold for Watson and Watt.

Lol. Then why draft a WR? We already have 1?
Oh bc multiple WR are on the field at the same time? Hmmm... now extrapolate that logic and use it on the OL. You can do it, I have faith in you.

When you draft a tackle in the top 10 picks of the first round, you are drafting a Left Tackle. When you are doing it 2 years in a row, you are dumb.

Like the rest of your argument.

You can create a realistic example to compare and contrast. You don't need to be fantastical about it though.

I can create Madden-like examples too for comparison sake but what's the point? It's not realistic.

if he's not a good fit for the system you have to consider it. He might not be "one of the top LTs in the NFL" in the wrong system. It's a big mistake to think just because a guy is huge and fast and powerful he'll work every system. IN some systems, you beat up the guy in front of you. IN others you run to a position and act like a road block

Tunsil brought a haul. There would be plenty of teams to pay. No way you bring in a new HC and system and then say, "hey body tailor your system to our second year LT". SO that's why

Now that said, JV mentioned he thinks he's accurate enough to fit this system and that's all i need to hear

and for what it's worth, as good as he's on the left side, he could be all world on the right for a system designed for power not zone

Why are you yelling at everyone about everything lately? I remember a kinder gentler person

Not sure if you’ve heard, but we have a new coach with an entirely different system. I don’t think they’ll be going after Kalen Ballage this offseason.
