Should Justin Fields be in consideration at #2 overall for the New York Jets? I personally would prefer Watson or Wilson ahead of Fields, but let me know what you guys think. Please consider subscribing if you are new to the channel! Go Jets!
I say stick with Darnold. However, if they do decide to go with another QB, Fields is the one I would want. Not interested in Wilson.
Sticking with Darnold would be dumb. The chances of his turning things around and even becoming an average QB are not good, and his chances of becoming an elite QB are minimal. That would be the best way of screwing the team and getting themselves (Douglas and Saleh) fired.
That's your opinion which you are entitled to. Mine is that he can be be a very effective QB if surrounded by competent players which Douglas and Saleh are responsible for.
Darnold and Sanchez are neck and neck at the moment. USC QB battle for the toilet. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Darnold has only played 3 years. Sanchez took the Jets to 2 AFC CGs....has one of the Top 5 playoff QB ratings of all-time.....4-2 on the road in the playoffs. Some toilet.
Sanchez didn't take the Jets ANYWHERE. They carried him. And there's no way he's a top 5 playoff QB. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Which proves that unless you're Manning, Favre or Brady you have to have help at QB. Unlike Sanchez, whose 1st 2 teams had talent on them, Darnold has been asked to QB 3 teams with little talent. Not one offensive player in 3 years (except a kicker) has made the pro bowl. You can't expect one guy, unless his initials are J.C., to perform miracles.
There's no doubt that the Jets' offensive skill position players have been mediocre at best, but the QB plays a big part in whether WRs, TEs or RBs make the Pro Bowl. Even if we had had a couple of studs, most likely they wouldn't have made it because Sam either wouldn't have see that they were open or would have made errant throws half the time.
When a QB has to play with a pocket that is constantly collapsing under duress, errant throws and inability to find secondary receivers, are the inevitable result.
The pocket was not constantly collapsing this season. Early in the season it was, but not in the second half of the season and Darnold was ranked 30th in accuracy throwing from a clean pocket. Darnold has also never had poise in the pocket. He doesn't seem to sense pressure or from where it's coming, doesn't move up in the pocket when that's an option, and scrambles in the wrong direction, running into rushers.
