It just makes it all the more enjoyable if by taking Wilson, we'd be pissing off another Patriot fan.

Yes, in the multiple videos of games that I have seen, Fields looks/appears to be much more elusive and faster than Lance.

There's not going to be a Combine. Only Pro Days. No visits to team facilities, either.

Because of his play in 2019. The same way that Chase, Rousseau and others are rated as 1st rounders.

    Fields ceiling is Russell Wilson

    Lance ceiling is Watson

Since Russell is better than Watson than let’s go with Fields.

It’s pretty close and obviously right now age is in Watson favor.
However, Wilson has put up basically comparable numbers for 9 years that Watson has for 3 with the one large difference in winning percentage.

Wilson already has 2 Super Bowl appearances and a ring,
Last summer NFL Networks top 100 players in 2020 voted on by NFL active players ranked Wilson #2 in the league, Watson #20.

The reason why this has not been mentioned is because this is utter poppycock. This is probably how a rumor about Zach being a dick spread too. I just personally went on his dad's twitter and saw his likes. The guy liked numerous mocks going to the Jets, liked Jet Nation posts, and articles which say Zach is a great fit for the Jets, particularly with Gase gone. To make the long story short: the truth is the EXACT OPPOSITE of the rumor you heard.

Lance looks like a fast and powerful runner. Maybe not as good as Lamar, but I think that will translate, though remains to be seen. Granted this was against teams much weaker in quality than his own, but just the fact he ran on 37% of his plays shows a certain tendency. Lamar ran on 35% of his plays. Fields is at 26%, and Russell Wilson ran about 20% of the time in College. I feel Fields' bread and butter is his clean pocket accuracy. He has been a top guy for two years in this category. He can find the mark and he can break tackles when he needs to, like Russell Wilson. But he is not a heavy run guy, like Jackson and Lance are where they are many design plays for them to run.

Lance could be a molded into Wilson like guy too, it's just that so far we have seen a lot of raw ability against overmatched competition with heavy focus on running game, where he succeeded.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this, because I see nothing about Lance's running that looks fast.

Being a Jet fan is stressful to say the least. I can’t help but think that what seems just a couple of days ago, knowing we lost Trevor, this board full effort was on what QB in the draft was best for the Jets. Many thought Fields, with a ceiling similar to Wilson, or Zach, with a ceiling similar to who knows whom. Now, the preponderance are saying both are high risk of failure based on past history and we should go for Watson at any cost. I disagree completely with any cost for Watson. Any cost reeks of desperation and long term disaster. I sure hope JD sees thru all the noise as an opportunity to leverage our picks and make this team as strong as possible, and not get caught up in a bidding war. We hold the cards, not Houston.

    Well said LA

San Fran holds the ace in the hole for Watson in my opinion especially if Watt moves on. They can offer Bosa + Jimmy G + 1st 2021 + 1st 2022 and that should get the deal done.

I would venture to guess Bosa is completely untouchable. As he should be.

Damn. What a deal that would be. They traded a DL stud last year though, would they really do it 2 years in a row? It would take a team strength and turn it into a weakness. I dont think San Fran would go that far, but who knows.

I used to think that way about football players, until Kahlil Mack was traded.

If Mack can get traded, Bosa could definitely be traded for an elite QB like Watson.

I've flipped from Fields to Wilson as I just think that Wilson is a better fit for (what we assume) is the new offensive system. I agree he probably needs to start on the bench unless he blows the competition away and let Sam (if he's not traded) take the hits.

If Sam is gone then we sign-up Beathard for his potential system familiarity or Taylor as he's probably the best of the rest as he's been a pro-bowler (alternate), has taken a historicaly bad team to the play-offs, is familiar with and has played well in AFC East conditions plus his recent record of 'bridging' has resulted in him being supplanted by Allen, Mayfield and Herbert.

it didnt JUMP out to me is why I asked.

anyway... a reminder of how terrible Sam is. Take note. Look at his follow thru. He doesnt know how to throw a football properly.

    My preferences in order:

    1. Trade down from # 2 for more picks to take the best player (QB if he falls in our laps)
    2. If we stay at # 2 Zack Wilson would be the pick
    3. The worst thing we could do is trade more than pick # 2 for a QB
