Everyone to 21 year old Trevor Lawrence: don't go to the Jets! They'll ruin you, worse franchise of all time!! Everyone to 25 year old Deshaun Watson: Go the Jets literally best place you could ever play!
Good catch. It's funny how the media and "influencers" try to play us as clowns and then try to make the team look like were a legit team ready to contend lol. Perhaps they hated Gase as much as most fans did and now that hes gone and we got some picks and cap space were a cool team?? Anyways these media ppl and these "experts" always been the real clowns
Sure do appreciate Brandon Marshall doing this. Still have no clue what Joe Douglas prefers. Free agency? (Dak Prescott) Trade? (Stafford/Watson) Draft? (Wilson/Fields/Lance/Jones) Stick with Darnold?
With all the options at QB this off-season I can't see how you can go into next year with Darnold as the main option. It's not entirely his fault but time to move on
I don’t disagree. I actually agree completely. Worst QB in football. Bad team, but that doesn’t excuse his play.
True, but he doesn't HAVE to talk about Sam, let alone call Sam a Brilliant QB with tons of ability. Two explanations: He believes it, or he doesn't but he's trying to talk up his trade price.
He wouldn’t say anything other than what he has been saying. No benefit in saying anything other than “Sam is talented and was drafted 3rd overall for a reason” blah blah blah. This is misinformation season.
To be fair most of the criticism came from the fact that Gase was the coach. I am not sure why they didn’t think we would fire him as soon as the season ended but many assumed Gase would still be the coach if/when we picked Trevor Lawrence. Many believe us hiring Saleh was the best coaching hire by any team this offseason. Outside of that the criticism has been on our org in general, but Douglas is respected so it seems like we’re just getting dogged on because we’ve been a bad team for quite some time. Jets fans know it has been mostly ownership that can’t seem to get the hiring and org structure right but that seems to be fixed now.
The sports media hates the idea of a superstar like Deshaun Watson coming to their favorite punching bag, the New York Jets. First it was "Watson will never ask for a trade". Now it's "we'll there's really another secret team he wants to play for". Meanwhile all the former Jets who have experienced winning seasons or post season victories are inspiring Watson to head for the Jets where he'll be embraced and treated like a rock star when he brings the Jets to the big show. We've paid our dues for 52 years, it's about bloody time some good fortune came the Jets way. The pieces are falling into place... Go Jets.
Yeah I'm super excited former players are speaking up. I've always gotten the feeling many coaches and players are embarrassed of their time with the Jets. I wish the franchise did more for alumni like the Steelers and Raiders who seem to have like a fraternity of former players always around supporting the org.
I think Gase leaving is big. I think the Johnsons allowing Douglas to drive the HC search and basically make the hire is big. The new HC being Saleh is big. Many people thought he was the best HC candidate available this year. Finally, the Johnsons changing the org structure to the HC reporting to Douglas is also big. I think that and the way Douglas handled the Adams situation, the haul in the trade he got for Adams, and the way Douglas handled the draft last year definitely has others thinking the Jets are a team on the upswing.
I'm not a betting man, but if I were, my money would be on C or B. I don't think that either A or D are even under serious consideration.
