There seems to be an abundance of quarterbacks flooding the market. Not counting Sam Darnold and Joe Flacco it would appear that there are up to twenty starting calibur quarterbacks up for grabs currently (17 good ones listed below). I am sure that several more will shake loose as teams try to figure out why they couldn't be the ones to win this weekend. 1 Trevor Lawrence (the chosen one?) 2 Deshawn Watson (also the chosen one?) 3 Aaron Rodgers (almost won the NFC Title game THIS YEAR, also won a SB already) 4 Dak Prescott (Cowboys haven't been able to lock him up) 5 Matt Stafford 6 Carson Wentz (appears to have lost his job in Philly) 7 Justin Fields - top 5? 8 Zack Wilson - top 5? 9 Trey Lance - top 15? 10 Kyle Trask - round one? 11 Mac Jones - round one? 12 Jacoby Brissett 13 Mitchel Trubisky 14 Jameis Winston 15 Ryan Fitzpatrick 16 Andy Dalton 17 Cam Newton With that in mind plus the fact that we can always choose to ride with Sam for one more year why should this rebuilding team did deep into its war chest for a quarterback when they are littered all over the ground?
I'll take Joe Fields or Zack Martin! Seriously, we should go get Watson because you get what you pay for, and there's a failure of imagination in the NFL about what an elite QB is actually worth.
Let's sign them all, up next will be the phantom article how they all hinted they want to play for arguably the worst franchise in the NFL
Comparing Darnold against the vet QBs, he’s got a shot against Trubisky and Brisset, but he’s not beating out Fitz, Newton, Winston, or any of the others. Probably wouldn’t beat out Tyrod Taylor. Ugh.
the tape is out there. all the " its unfair, his team stinks." so did Detroit and Houston. How did THEIR Qbs "look" like above avg, very good QBs.
Cam Newton was a starter. Some of those other players may also end up as starters next year. My point is that there are a lot of bodies out there for only so many starting jobs.
Knew that obviously, but he was probably the worst starter in the nfl last year . Out of that list from 12-17 only fitztragic was good enough to be a starter
Plenty of options at QB. No need to over draft a prospect. I like the the former #2 overall pick out of North Carolina as a stop gap, or rebirth. Sure we can keep Sam and let the two battle it out for the starting role. Draft Swell at #2 create a power run game that utilizes play action and get Mitch or Sam on the move. I do like Herndon and Griffith in two TE sets. We will need a fullback.
