That's where JD comes in. Also Texans maybe hiring McCown as HC. He believe in Darnold. So we maybe able to make a nice move.
IMO The real process is get a great GM then hope he or she hires a Great HC And build a quality team regardless of position There can be no shortcuts IMO
Ok let’s say he is 22 year old Brady still not worth giving away all your picks We have seen Brady, the goat, needs a team let alone Watson who is literally nothing compared to Tom
Well hopefully that is what we already did. Now we need a QB. Because as you see in New England... QB is the most important position.
I agree man, I'm opposed to paying too much for him as well. But when you say things like he's not a top 12 QB people are going to tune out everything else you say on the matter.
I completely disagree. Lawerence is supposed to be the best prospect at his position in a very long time. Watsons was now. Lawerence ceiling is maybe the highest we have seen in over 2 decades. Unfortunately on the wrong team with the wrong supporting cast he may never hit his ceiling. But he could also be better, maybe the top qb in the league one day. None of the tape on h ik m shows otherwise.
If Lawrence can end up as the top QB in the league one day, so can Watson. (I don't think either one will though because pundits weight Super Bowls pretty heavily, and Mahomes has Andy Reid as his coach.)
watson already has the highest completion percentage all time. After the numbers he’s put up over the last 3 years, you can’t say it’s likely for any college qb to live up to this kind of production.
I don't put any stock into rumors from the media. But I will say that assuming Watson wants to come here, we have the most resources to get him.
In possession of and willing to spend are two different things. I don't think Joe Douglas is going to be willing to give up his hoard of picks to get anybody with the contract that Watson has. It doesn't make sense even if the guy is the greatest player of all time because he's not going to be that with the Jets current roster + remaining picks and free agents. Then next year the Jets are suddenly cap crunched because of the Watson deal and the free agents and he's one year and out the door when that sinks in.
So let me get this straight... you wouldn’t give up the #2 and Jamal Adams for a 22yo Tom Brady. LOL. Ok buddy.... wow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not even gonna argue with some people anymore half the stuff he says are off the wall crazy lmao. I think he just says them to get us going only thing that makes sense at this pt
Did the Texans have a good roster? His best weapons were brandon cooks and will fuller who played half the season.. offensive line was bad as well and he led the league in passing yards, 33 TDs to 7 ints. For the right deal we'd still have plenty of picks to add to the o-line and sign a guy like allen robinson. Darnold is set to make 25 mil after this year and will surely cost 30+ as well if he has a decent season.. every starting qb gets paid. Deshaun is and always will be better than Darnold. The only argument for saving money on qb would be to draft another rookie this year and trade darnold.
Their defense is a sieve. That is the unit that OBrien really allowed to deteriorate under his watch.
