Just seems like stars aligning for Watson.

1:Missed out on TL and ended up with the second pick.

2:We happen to have an abundance of draft capital including high pics to trade.

3:We happen to have plenty of cap space after covid caused a lot of teams to be in Cap hell and unable to trade for Watson.

4:There is a ton of great QBs available saturating the market and making less teams QB needy.

This is very true. If Rodgers asks for a trade then Watsons stock could drop.

Provided Watson really wants out and given his no-trade clause, Houston doesn't have the leverage to get that package.

If we did that honestly JD would immediately need to be fired.

When you negotiate you always ask for more than your willing to accept. That gives room to come down and get what your REALLY after.

Realistically they want #2 overall + 1st Sea + 1st Sea. Anything more I don’t think a deal will happen and anything less I don’t think a deal happens. It’s really the sweet spot for both teams.

Texans don’t seem likely to trade him if that’s their proposal. No team in their right mind is giving up that much.

I still think in some world we get buy with all 3 Seattle picks and Darnold. Maybe another first next year or year after if need. No way we give up all that craziness.

    Give Texans minimal

    they have no leverage

Let them rebuild with our Seattle pics

Everyone is truly bat shit crazy around here

Watson did dick with better rosters past few years

he’ll be the same with no pics and no talent

I’m definitely in the twilight zone reading the stupidity

Sir, you are no Joe Montana

stfu with top 5 top 5

he is not- these are equal or better

    Mahomes
    Brady
    Rodgers
    Wilson
    Prescott
    Jackson
    Ryan
    Ben
    Brees
    Allen
    Mayfield
    Murray
    Cousins
    Stafford

he is top 12 at best when some of these retire

Again saying he had a better roster is 100% false. He is better than everyone you listed outside of Mahomes and Rodgers. His numbers the past 3 years are better and he was on a worse roster than all of them except maybe Stafford. I want to low ball if we go for him but I also realize he is a top 3 QB for sure.

    We agree to disagree

Ok but this year he had arguably the best numbers in the nfl with a worse roster than us... so your logic makes no sense.

But you have basically 0 evidence on your side if you're saying Watson is top 12 at best. That's not free thinking, it's lunacy.

    Watson is quality no doubt

I just don’t see the logic of.....

Taking a team that was 2-14 (shoulda been 0-16) that has a million holes, and giving away a million picks for just one dude, who did nothing, with a bad team? (Record wise)

it’s like we suddenly are Texans East

    no thanks

    follow the process

If you really believe this, it makes sense that you wouldn’t want to trade for him. But, Watson is a top 3 QB in the league right now.

The process for most teams is a QB first. A lot of team will trade 2-3 first rounder to move up and take an unproven QB. We have the chance to move on a proven one that is just entering his prime. I am not an advocate for either way. That said Watson is better than fields or any qb not named Lawerence in this draft. Even with Lawerence he could still be better. We would still have a first every year I think as long as everything falls out way. You make that trade.

    Yep agree

im not saying there is not a trade to be made

I’m saying giving away the farm is illogical

Why would I want to be the shit team with a million holes and Watson.... that goes 6-10 ? no thanks

the plan needs to be fleshed out more
