I have no idea how Rodgers could look LaFleur in the face after that decision. Even if you don't get the TD, they are pinned on the 8 yard line opposed to the 30 or wherever they got it after the kickoff. Mind blowing decision.
I do sort of get the 'analytics' or averages of the decision - Kick the FG to put you within a TD of the win with essentially 4 time outs in your pocket. If you're playing the Jags or Jets then it's a solid enough decision but when it means giving Tom Brady the ball then that really has to factor into your decision.
His QB is assuming he had another down to get it. There is no reason for LaFleur to be thinking one thing and his QB thinking another. Where is the communication from the Coach? That was awful.
I've watched it a couple times now and I don't think there's anyway Rodgers scores on that last play if he tries to run it in. He's not super fast and the defensive backs can close that space in no time. But he could've picked up 4-5 yards as it's four down territory in that situation anyways.
I'll go back and watch. At a certain time the wife comes and wants some facetime so, i hafta half talk w/ her and half watch....
Totally agree. I recognize that Josh Allen did some really nice things this year - above and beyond what I gave him credit for being able to do previously - but I still don't see it with him. All this talk of him being in the elite QB tier of the league right now, that the Bills have their FQB for the next 10-15 years, doesn't wash with me. Obviously I'm just a guy on the internet and he may be that guy eventually, but I just don't see it.
We need to stay positive, and this IS the takeaway. NE fans gotta hurt the most about this. NE could have still had Brady if they wanted, but they moved on thinking he was washed up and didn't want to pay. While he is definitely not the same as when Belichick had him for all these painful years, it shows any good coach would have done what Belichick did if he just had a Brady. Belichick was glorified for no reason, when his biggest accomplishment was dumb luck.
